October 4, 200422 yr This is so awesome, i've got my Tivo set . CLASSIC PANTHERS FSN Florida will fill the NHL lockout void with Florida Panthers Classic Games, a selection of 10 of the greatest games in the team's history. Two Classic Games will air per week, beginning Oct. 12 with Game 5 of the 1996 Bruins quarterfinal (the Bill Lindsay game). Denis Potvin will host each classic game. "Panthers Classics remind me of the many times I wished that I could have laced them up with these guys," Potvin said. "The Rat Pack was awe inspiring." http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/custom/...la-sports-media
October 4, 200422 yr Ahhh, 1996, the only year I cared about real ice hockey. Brings me back to my days of playing NHL 97 with my uncles from 9am-midnight.
October 4, 200422 yr this might shock b4p and others, but i might just check this out. their run in 1996 was awesome
October 4, 200422 yr FSN answers with a great series during the Lockout. More info on http://flpanthers.blogspot.com/
October 4, 200422 yr If I cared about the Panthers I'd be thrilled. Watching 8 year old games that aren't quit ESPN Classic-esque is pretty sweet.
October 5, 200422 yr If I cared about the Panthers I'd be thrilled. Watching 8 year old games that aren't quit ESPN Classic-esque is pretty sweet. 582276[/snapback] word man word. i remember watching that marlins game at wrigley where millar hit a inside the parker a few years after it happened. that was awesome
October 5, 200422 yr That goal by Lindsay remains one of the best moments by an individual in south florida sports history. Scoring a goal to clinch the franchise's first playoff series is one thing, but when he took that shot, his body was horizontal about a foot off the ice.
October 5, 200422 yr I havent watched a Panthers since they left the Miami Arena, I used to love taking the metrorail to the arena and watching Hockey, Hockey in person is one of the greatest events, but them leaving to accomodate Huipinga and since TV Hockey really sucks Ive learned to just ignore it...But I have a real soft spot in my heart for that rat loving bunch, I just may enjoy watching it, but after they go through that 96 season and some of their inagural year what else will they show
October 20, 200422 yr Author Bumping this for all the people that aren't aware of the classic games on FSN.
October 21, 200422 yr Mike Hough scores! GAME OVER! *sigh* The gold ole days. The 96 team was one of the best assembled teamplay wise, not talent wise. I still love going to see Stu Barnes play the Panthers. As well as Mellenby who I saw twice last year. Great stuff.
