July 2, 200322 yr not to mention, Lee's HRs, On-base percentage, batting average, and slugging percentage are all higher than the average for a 1B. Oh yeah, and there are 30 teams, which means 30 starting 1Bs....Lee is ranked 9 by CBS Sportsline (using stats). I just think yall are waaayy to harsh on this guy.

I seriously doubt it. Everyone would say it was a fluke. Admit it. What would it take for yall to quit saying that Lee is unclutch. B/c when you think about it...when else has Lowell hit a GW HR. I can remember when Lee did. He hit one against the Braves a few years ago. 2 run HR in the 9th when we were down by 1. So it was a couple years ago. I sure cant think of the last time Lowell hit a game winning HR (before the Sox game). What about Encarnacion? He hit a HR when we were down by 7 to the Sox (pretty much what Lee did the next game).

July 2, 200322 yr No, Lowell doesn't hit alot of dramatic HR's, but he does knock in runs before the game turns into a football score. What gets me, still, is the fact that D. Lee misses BADLY on off speed crap. He looks like an idiot when a biting duece comes in. The other night Lee pulled a HR into LF. Like clockwork, I saw someone post a defense of D. Lee saying all he needs to do is pull the ball more. The reason why he doesn't pull more is because he can't make clean contact on slow garbage pitches. The only clean contact he makes is on fastballs or the occasional defective splitter. And you show me a pitcher who thorws Lee heat when the game is on the line and I'll show you a pitcher on his way to AAA. Anyway, that's the book on Lee. Back up the garbage truck and start throwing crap at him when it matters. He'll keep the whole stadium cool while he screws himself into the ground.

But Encarnacion and Lee are very very similar in #s. Yet Lee gets criticized, adn Encarnacion does not.
July 2, 200322 yr Lowell has 71 RBI that is clutch. If Lee were more consistant then it would be diffrent but he's not.

July 2, 200322 yr Carcy is having a great, but quiet year. I'm pretty sure he's second or third on the team in hits. But the reason why we don't think he's a worthless pile of fly attracting, smelly, runny crap like Lee is because he wasn't supoosed to be as good as he is. Cary is over-performing, Lee is underperforming.
