July 1, 200322 yr Lee has had 4 good games......... whopty freaking doo we all want him to do well, and until he puts together a good month or even 2 or 3 wekks, he will be ripped His OPS this season is .862 (and he plays half his games in pitcher-friendly Pro Player), so you could make a good case that he's been good for most of the year. In fact, the only NL first basemen with a higher OPS are Todd Helton (who plays half his games in Coors), Jim Thome, and Richie Sexson. And he's better defensively than all those players as well. You could argue that he hasn't lived up to his potential, but I don't see how you can say he hasn't been a solid first basemen this season.

But anyway, my original point is that Lee has put up solid offensive numbers relative to other NL first-basemen, and his defense is above average as well. i dont ee the hate for d.lee either. i have alwayssupported him and i have always came with stats like you have rodeo and they always says he sucks. i could understand them not liking him by the way he looks or his attitude on the field, but its not that, say his offensive ouput has been totally worthess. do agree that he has not lived up to his full potential but compared to many 1B's out there he is having a pretty good year. but it seems like all of you would want to trade him. all i'm saying is his defense is spectacular and i feel e is overlooked for gold glove because of his offensive numbers (yes gold glove award also has something to do with offense) but this guy can break out any season kind of how mike lowell has this year. and even if he doesnt i totaly accept the .270 avg 25 hr's and 80 rbi's every year that he has given us for the past 3 years. but you guys will still disagree, and thats fine
