Marlins-Phillies Pitching Matchups

Featured Replies

Friday: Pavano (6-9, 4.73) vs. Millwood (9-6, 4.03)

Saturday: Penny (6-6, 4.8) vs. Padilla (7-7, 3.68)

Sunday: Redman (6-3, 2.78) vs. Wolf (9-3, 3.23)

Every game could be a toss-up.

Depends what "stuff" each pitcher has each night. They could all win it if they are on their game.

while watching tonight's game i noticed two things...

1) Don't walk or get behind in the count to anybody, doing so will almost guarantee a run for the Phils.

2) Phils aren't great at catching fast runners and can't turn double plays well so you can run freely.

Rollins and Padilla aren't bad on the double play...

Padilla part of a double play?

Look at tonight's game, the only DP they turned was because Zambrano got outside the baseline and was calle dout for it. If he hadn't done that, they wouldn't have turned it.

They may be a fine DP combo, but if they can't DP Grudzelanik normally, then they won't turn many on us. By the way, didn't Redman get our first win this season vs the Phils, and didn't Pavano and Penny get the two wins in Philly?

OK so 2 out of 3 or even a sweep is not out of the picture. The three pitchers pitching for us this series are the ones who have pitched in the three games we have won against the Phillies this year. I like our chances. :thumbup

I'm saying that either team could win any amount of games. All the pitchers can be up or down, but all have great stuff...

1st game will be the highest scoring and the last game will be a duel. I hope we can take 2....lets see how Pav and Penny recover from Fenway.
