I'm already married. I think my wife was expecting something like that, but I didn't want to do anything with thousands of people around. What I did actually, I don't think was that great of a story...

It was during Christmas. My wife (then girlfriend) and I were getting ready to leave for West Virginia to spend the holidays with her family. A couple of nights before, I decided to exchange gifts at like 1am. She had no clue why, but she went with it....

None of the boxes looked like a ring or anything. She had wanted this sweater for a long time, so I bought it for her. When she opened it, she held up the sweater cause she loved it. I took a picture of her holding it up and you can see the box with the ring that I had hid under the sweater. Once she looked down to put the sweater back down, she saw the ring and broke into tears. So, I kneeled down next to the bed and asked her to make me the happiest man in the world..

We just had our 2 year wedding anniversary this past November 2nd.

I had a similar situation.

I knew we were going to get married and my husband needed to pay off the engagement ring. I thought I would get it close to Christmas.

Anyway- we went to my parents for Thanksgiving and I was helping my mom, when my husband asked to speak to me privately. We went into my parents room and I sat on the bed and he knelt down on one knee. I thought it strange but I didn't ask any questions. He declared his love for me and presented me with the ring that day. Every one was in on it except me.

It was a great time and a great rememberance each Thanksgiving.

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary this past April and are looking forward to many, many more.

I'll ask my girlfriend if she wants to "take the plunge" and if she says yes, I'll say "let's go to the sizzler, go back to the crib, and do it in the butt".

I don't think he knows that he accurately described you.

Whatever happend to romantic-ism? All you people wanting to do it in a baseball stadium... well if it was an empty baseball stadium... at night, then you're talking.

It depends. If you met your partner at a baseball stadium at a game, that would be cute. Maybe you don't even have to make a big deal about it.

Here's a cute proposal story...

My cousin met her husband at FIU in class. They were together for like 2 years and then one day he told her to meet him at that class. She was confused as to why he wanted to meet there one day but she went anyways. The lights were on in the classroom but no one was in there and the door was open. So she walked in and she found rose petals on the floor leading to her old seat. (He sat next to her in class.) He walks in and gets on one knee and proposes.

That is sooo dreamy, just like out of a movie. I would just die if a guy did that to me.

id probably take the woman in my arms and tell her "how about you make yourself the luckiest woman in the world and marry me." :cool

and we could do it at Wendy's to. :thumbup

:lol Too funny!

I'm not sure what I'll do yet. Maybe I'll find a website she visits frequently and purchase some space there.

Honestly, I have never really thought about it.

Of course I would like it to be romantic... and unique. I don't want some proposal that millions have already done.... i want it to be personal.... I want it to mean something.... *sigh* :)

Same here :)

If a girl proposed to me the following things should be involved:

-Her nude

-Another female nude

-Chocolate syrup

-Whipped cream

-Stacks of hardcore DVD pornography

:mischief

Wow. I just stumbled into this old thread. For those curious, here's what I actually did.

It was Valentines Day (yes, typical I know, but she thought it was just me being sweet at the time). I set up the table all fancy like, turned of the lights, and served a homemade candlelit dinner to '80s love ballads (don't judge me, it's how I roll). Anyhow, I made an amazing steak, roasted red potatoes, and pan fried asparagus. I don't even like asparagus, but it was amazing. I even bought a $50 bottle of wine just to make the steak sauce. I went all out. Even dressed up real nice like.

Anyhow, when the time came to pop, the question, I was so nervous. I had hidden the engagement ring on the underside of the table. And I did a spoken word version of Never Gonna Give You Up.

"Joanna, we're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I."

Pull out the ring box and open it as I say, "A full commitment's what I'm thinkin' of."

Well, she did a double take and said, "HOLY CRAP!" followed by, "Is that real!?" and "Yes! YES! YES!"

You rick roll'd your wife for engagement?

It worked.
