November 22, 200421 yr Dolphins lose today and fall to 1-9. Theyll likely be top 5 barring a change. Who do fellow fins fans think they should take or would like them to be able to take? btw, isnt this such a weird feeling for dolfans? We've never been a team drafting this high, at least not in a long time.
November 22, 200421 yr Author They'll be either 1st or 2nd in the draft. 619549 youre probably right but you never know. Lots of 3 win teams that could lose out and not impossible for them to win two more. But Im sure itll be top two.
November 22, 200421 yr Adrian Peterson.... :plain 619554 i wish 619556 He wouldn't do s*** without an offensive line. He's not that good anyway. Fins have to go OL. If you think otherwise, you're an idiot. That's all there is to it.

If you think otherwise, you're an idiot. That's all there is to it. 619561 But there is no OL deserving to go in the top 5. The dolphins need to trade the pick they get, move down to 15-ish, draft mike williams and pick up a second round pick with the drop. Boston, Williams, Booker, Chambers, killer WR core. Hope to get Edge or Alexander in FA, and draft OL with the rest of the picks. Talk about a killer team then

Talk about a killer team then 619565 What good are a bunch of WRs when the QB is on his back before the play has time to develop? Also, with the OL we have, we're gonna continue to have tons of injury problems in the offensive backfield.
November 22, 200421 yr Author Trading the pick for a good solid package would be a good idea. Make up for idiocy like trading a 2nd rounder for AJ Feeley.
November 22, 200421 yr Let's draft a quarterback like Matt Leinhart, so that we have a chance for a good future quarterback.
November 22, 200421 yr Let's draft a quarterback like Matt Leinhart, so that we have a chance for a good future quarterback. 619582 No. Do you guys realize how integral the OL is? You can have the greatest QB in the world and without a decent OL he's gonna be on his back and/or running for his life on every play. Don't talk about free agency because good/dominant OLs rarely leave a team.
November 22, 200421 yr If Aaron Rodgers looks good against UMich (assuming they meet in the Rose Bowl), chooses to come out, AND impresses folks during those draft camps they do, then I'd say using that early pick on him would be acceptable. Barring that, I'm trading down to mid first round. They should be able to get like a 2nd and 4th rounder, if they drop 10 spots or so.

Move down to mid 1st and get a 2nd and 4th. Move down late first for another 2nd. Late 1st and 2 seconds would let the team add a lot. I agree with fritz that OLineman have to be drafted but since there are no top Olineman, get them in the late first and second round. Who are the top names in terms of Olineman this year? Lets also not forget that we get Boston back next year. So Boston, Chambers, and a free agent pickup should make the WR core fine. Then sign a FA QB. They are always available.
November 22, 200421 yr Trade down, get the first or second-best OL available and a DT in the second. 619588 Finally. Someone with rationality. Also, why's everyone so quick to give up on Feeley? I say we give him all of 05 to prove himself and if he doesn't, we either draft a QB to sit for awhile and suffer through Feeley or we get a FA QB. We've already invested so much in Feeley we might as well give him more than six games to prove himself.
November 22, 200421 yr Author I say the Dolphins pounce in on the situation in San Diego. That team has to decide what it is going to do. They arent going to pay Phillip Rivers a crapload to be a backup but do they allow Brees to leave after the season he is having?

While both Boller and Rodgers have strong arms and come from Jeff Tedford's system, that is where the main comparison ends. Boller has always had terrible mechanics and questionable decision making. Rodgers is known for picture perfect mechanics and decision making and also is not quite the athlete Boller is and is not as big as Boller. Rodgers is also known for a tremendous work ethic, leadership ability and intangibles that Boller was never seen to posses coming out of college. Really, they are two very, very different players and almost every accurate scouting report will show that. Rogers is also widely seen as the more ready player to contribute from day one and is alsop seen to have much more upside than Boller did.

Rodgers is probably a 4.8+ guy and Boller is in the 4.6 area. He has average mobility, not low.
