Are threads being stripped of content?

 

I count at least four threads in which I have been engaged in a debate only to come back the next day to see the thread stripped. It's not like any of the material was graphic most of it was debate. Why is the site being censored? It's not right and it should stop. Just because a mod doesn't agree with a particular opinion doesn't mean you have to strip the thread of debate content.

As a Mod, I take great offense at your insuation that we have a 'list'.

 

That is simply not true. Admin has done an excellent job of choosing mods from different walks of life and experiences. We have a great balance of opinions and when such action is taken, it is usually discussed at length with Admin. There are no rouge Moderators who operate on their own, outside of the blessings of the others.

 

I have been a Moderator for several years now and take pride in the fact that we operate on a very even keel. No one is 'picked on'. No one is on a 's*** list'.

Boy, oh Boy- if this happened to me, I'd KNOW what was missing. Three people in this thread asked what was deleted, and you offered no information. Nor did you post any more after the initial accusation.

IF anything was deleted or edited, it must have been because it violated the Forum Guidelines. I suggest you read those over to make sure that your posts subscribe to the content rules.

Yeah, the list would be with the mods, not with the users.

Guys, we are members of a community. As members of this community we are asked to follow a few very basic and simple rules. Throughout your life you will be expected to follow some very basic codes of conduct at school, at work, on a team, etc. The rules of this board are very clear and very fair.

 

Removing posts that do not follow the forums rules does not equate to censorship. These posts are removed for violation of rules, not for difference of opinion or "to keep the man down." If you are cursing, you typically receive a warning and your post gets edited. If you are spamming, the posts are removed - no questions asked. If you are adverstising or promoting sites, those posts should most definately be removed or edited. The members of this forum don't need to come in here and be bombarded by ads and spam. You want ads and spam? Join an aol or yahoo! group... They are fantastic for killing a group.

 

I think the mods are doing a fantastic job. I love this forum. Heck, I'm a YANKEE FAN posting in a Marlins board - what does THAT tell you? Just do the right thing and the mods will leave your posts alone.

I have to make some apologies. I haven't been on the site for 3 days, for a reason. My computer crashed Friday night. I just now got it back, turns out it had a bunch of problems with viruses, spyware, adware etc. and I lost a bunch of stuff. I just now got to read this thread and went back to get some proof and to my surprised the threads were back to how they were. Leading me to believe that my computer and not the mods or Admin was "stripping content from threads".
