December 13, 200421 yr Almost everyone of the big free agents they've wanted are almost all gone. They wanted to make a splash and that seems unlikely now. So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the Detroit Tigers will sign: Ready for this...... OF Carlos Beltran, just because their offseason has been somewhat disappointing.
December 13, 200421 yr I'd say Lowe and Drew, but with Beltran, I don't think it's so much an issue of they don't want him as much as he doesn't want them. Unless they do the $200 million offer (which they're almost assuredly not to do) Beltran will probably end up back in Houston.
December 13, 200421 yr There ya go. Drew is a highly likely candidate for the new CF. Lowe wants toooooo much, but everybody is overpaying these days.
December 14, 200421 yr My sources say he'll stay in H-town. 634362 My "sources" say sources are overrated. :thumbup
December 14, 200421 yr If Boras doesn't get off his high horse soon, Beltran won't get to play the one place where he wants to.
December 14, 200421 yr If Boras doesn't get off his high horse soon, Beltran won't get to play the one place where he wants to. 634461 That'll be two years in a row out of whack demands and fallacious information leading to a higher perceived self-worth will cost his premier client happiness for a little more money.
December 14, 200421 yr I hear they're pretty close with Edgar Renteria. 634417 No Pedro means Boston has loads of cash. Edgar to Boston. Clement to Boston.
December 14, 200421 yr Supposedly, the Tiger are going to ink Beltre and Lowe. All the big fish are still out there to be signed, so it's too early to call anyone's offseason "disappointing".
