That means they have $10.6 million free to spend...636907[/snapback]

If that is the money left, then that is what they have left to spend on two corner outfielders, bullpen guys, and some bench players. Comes to about an average $2 million if they get 5 more players and pay them each about the same salary.

No one disputes he is a good GM.....but he is going for the title without some key parts the Braves have depended on.

Only key parts are LF and RF, what's the rest? A bullpen of Danny Kolb, Chris Reitsma, Tom Martin, Kevin Gryboski, and Roman Colon. A starting rotation of John Smoltz, Tim Hudson, Mike Hampton, John Thomson, and Horacio Ramirez. Only holes are LF and RF IMHO, $9 million to spend on corner outfielders.

Do the Braves have anyone in their farm system they can call up anymore? Either at Richmond or Mississippi?

Charles THomas began the year as a backup in AAA. What does that say about the Braves ability to plug in youngsters?

One thing that dawns on me if the rumored Johnson to Yankees, Shawn Green to the Diamondbacks deal goes through - since Green is a lefty the D'backs may have less interest in signing Dellucci than they did.

They also cancelled their meeting with Jeromy Burnitz and have not rescheduled it.

Maybe they could move Greene to the field? He is a good Athlete

newsflash, until the Braves DON'T win the division for the 150th year in a row, they're still the team to beat.

Ex-freaking-actly.

If I was AJ I'd rip management too...more power to him. What kind of good faith have they shown to him and all the other players who will become FA's. What was the last big FA on our team that we retained. AJ's right man and until we do something to take the next step, i hope he keeps chirping.

Lowell and Castillo were pretty big

Cape, I've seen you say some pretty ridiculous things, but the Marlins must make a big move, Atlanta IS the team to beat whether you want to admit to it or not.

To reduce their 2004 payroll of $90 million to (around) $69.4 million and while acquiring Tim Hudson and Danny Kolb. John Schuerholz is damn good GM...
