Lee for Conine, No!

Featured Replies

Love to have Mr.Marlin in the Clubhouse and on the field. But, on the field, we gain nothing by giving up Lee for Conine. (Certainly not at this mid-season). We need pitching, lots of quality pitching! To get quality pitching we have to give up a position player. Give up Lee for quality pitching (Banks and others can cover 1st.) Or give up Marlins' Hall of Famer Castillo (we can almost cover 2nd, too.) But, don't swap position players for positions players. Trade only for quality pitching. And quality pitching is at a premium in both leagues!

I dont really think we have 2B covered in the farm or on the bench. Hooper is having a decent season at AAA, but the argument hes not playing well because of getting snubbed in ST cant explain an entire half a season. I agree if your going to trade someone make it for pitching.

Said we could "almost" cover 2nd. Lee is hard enough to replace, Castillo almost impossible. But, we have to sacrifice a position player to get a quality pitcher (and I'm not talking about a discard, minor leaguer or "player to be named..." I'm talking about a quality pitcher (or two) right now.

quality starter or relief?

and i hope to never see Hooper on the big league team

I don't want to trade ANY positional players for pitching. Hell, I don't want to trade any position players in general!

We don't need any starting pitchers. All we need is one bullpen pitcher (Benitez) and we are good to go.

what would happen to Loop, if Benitez comes over?

he would combust

he would set up or close

ill take either

Looper could be good set-upman, if he is willing to pitch two innings.

willing?

he has pitched 1+ inning alot recently

atleast he goes out an pitches, not like Mr Penny

and i think you ned to keep him at closer to start... but he would thrive wherever he is

If he's willing? His a** will do as told! :p

But he would probably say yes...

"Probably" be willing. That's cute. It has been evidenced on this site that Looper is not pleased with coming in before the ninth. (Radio, TV and newspaper quotations.)

this game showed why we shouldnt give Lee for just Conine like some people are willing to do. thats all im saying

We really do need conine. Do you know how much he is batting with RISP? Well over .300. He can help drive in runs and he has about 603 RBI's. We need him he will be a way better hitter than derek and he is a veteran...
