Delgado Press Conference Thread

Featured Replies

Carlos is very articulate (in both languages), very polite, and very charismatic. We're very lucky to have him on our team. I am very excited about this coming season.

In the beginning:

Loria-"well jack, you finally got that left handed power you wanted."

Jack-"Well its about time"

:lol

Anytime between 3 and 6 PM, nobody knows for sure yet. The Hot List starts at 3 PM so just make sure you watch the beginning and i'm sure they'll say when Delgado will be on.

Delgado will be on the Hot List sometime during the first 30 minutes.

Notes:

tough to wait on the market ...

helped to wait, allowed market to develop ...

will do his best, put the numbers up, drive in runs, etc ...

he feels great (about his knees and such) .. prefers natural grass / dirt as does the other athletes .. hoping it won't be an issue so he can go out and play everyday ..

felt it tough in the division he was in because the Yanks / Red Sox constantly got people ..

NL East is a tough division .. he likes the way we look .. great pitching staff .. balanced lineup .. some runners, some power .. this is exactly where we want to be ..

great memories in Toronto, welcoming the change to Miami .. strong latin influence .. baseball in our blood (Miami) ..

Some teams brought up the issue on standing for god bless america .. Marlins did not .. Delgado is not going to stand, staying in the clubhouse for it ..

(interview over)

He loves the Latin atmosphere of Miami and is looking forward to playing in our community.

He also said he's staying in the clubhouse during the singing of God Bless America. Sticking with his convictions. Good man.

Delgado is going to stand ..

No, he said he is not going to.

doh, cable hiccuped when he spoke and it sounded like he said he will, must have hiccuped the not part

Just hit a bunch of HRs, drive in a bunch of runs and stand for the Nat'l Anthem and we're cool

He can hit a bunch of homers and drive in the runs and he's good enough for me. It's his choice whether he stands or not.

ESPN seems confused on our lineup. When they were doing the interview, it sayd conine RF, Cabs LF .. on their "map" it shows the opposite ..
