it took me about a milli second to make my decision on this one...

Vlad is 10 times the player Beltran is now and will ever be...

The only reason why I voted for Beltran is because Vlad has chronic back problems. I feel that Beltran can play the next 10 years at a high level, where Vlad won't be able to do that. At this point there is no doubt that Vlad is a better player than Beltran. Beltran also hasnt reached his full potential IMO.

Not just chronic, a degenerative back condition.

its a tough one ... Beltran just gives you the overall player, but Vlad is just on a league of his own ... heck so is Beltran

everyone is gonna vote for gladdy.

i dont wanna be a "homer", but Beltran DOES in fact give you the overall player. given, Vlad has a higher BA and better HR, RBI numbers. but, thats not by such a wide gap over Beltran. now, speed, its not even a contest as Beltran gives you 35-40 steals a year, and Vlad struggles to get to 20-25. defense? BIG difference. Vlad has an arm, but cant track down balls or make the defensive play like Beltran can.

 

its a tough call, but overall, id take Beltran. still, Vlad is the man.
