slogan contest question

Recommended Posts

I was inspired by 2 things:

1) The Hunt For Red October

2) I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

This is how I responded to Admin when he asked me:

The proper way of saying it according to the rules of the English language is "The Hunt For A Teal October." We are looking forward to seeing the Marlins reach October. However, the month is not named "Teal October."

The Hunt For A Teal October

The movie "The Hunt For Red October" is not used in the same context as it spoke of a specific October in history. Just a tense difference.

Are we making fun of the movie or the team?

It isn't a parody. He just made a graphic to illustrate my slogan for this season like the cover of the movie "Hunt For Red October."

Parody: A literary or artistic work that imitates the characteristic style of an author or a work for comic effect or ridicule.

I am not meaning this to be a comic effect or ridicule for anyone. Just because you may laugh at the graphic, the slogan is not a parody.
