Saying someone is as good defensively as GUerrero isn't saying much, he's a mediocre fielder.

BTW, who led all LFers in assists last year with 11?

I'd even go as far as saying that Guerrero is a below average fielder.

That's because PEOPLE RAN ALOT on him this last season. Why?

5 Assists in 2003

4 Assists in 2002 (Oh by the way this was the second lowest total in the entire league with LFers with more than 100 games started)

Who wouldn't run on a weak arm like that?

Who in his prime was a C-rated defensive player by Bill James.

Vlad isn't a great fielder but he has an incredible arm, and that alone puts him a good deal better than Bonds defensively.

that's why he won 8 gold gloves right? And if Bill James rated him a C defensively, then how come he called Bonds "the best defensive left fielder" of all time?

Have you thought that he had those low assists the previous years because not that many people run on him? He has a real quick release with the ball, and that's all the baserunners can see. When someone's rounding third, they can't see how accurate the throw is or how hard it's coming, all they can see is the fielders release.

It's not the first time Bonds has led left fielders in assists, 2004 was the 9th time he's had 10 or more assists, and in 2000 and 2001 he had 9 and 8 respectively, so 2002 and 2003 were the anomalies, not 2004.
