Marlins and WQAM will have an announcement on Wed.

Another good call by the C-Fish.

I think Roxy would be a good compliment to DVH.

I'm anxious to know how this works out.

I happen to catch a couple of minutes of Fat Hank this morning (fool that I am) and it just reminded me how riduculous it was for the Marlins to be on WQAM with it's all-football, all-the-time, baseball-loathing format.

There has to be a better solution to their contract problem than renewing with them.

WQAM is already the flagship for 2005, this announcement is the announcer most likely.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't seen an announcement that the Marlins and WQAM have comes to terms on a new contract.

I've been busy, perhaps I missed it, but my understanding is that while QAM continues to flagship the franchise's radio broadcasts they haven't entered into a new contract as of yet.

This email came to me from WQAM management. Take it as you will. WQAM has a schedule for both Spring Training and the Regular Season. The Marlins website has the Regular season sked up and should be posting the Spring one that I posted soon.

Yes, how else do you think I get it?

Edit: I also get news from th other stations too from their officials. They all seem to point towards whoever wins. The Miami Radio Market has pretty good managers, they will tell you the truth when it comes to changes.

Its hasn't gotten any better down the dial, Craig was kick off his 10am-1pm spot on 790 for you guess it another former Dolphin OJ. I caught the beginning of his show today, Dolphin talk for the get it go.

Guys, let them talk Dolphins. All that matters is that the Marlins get the money to pay the players we need.

560 WQAM and 790 The Ticket will soon not be able to justify their All-Dolphins diet. Give it time.

I think that some of the comments above about 790 are unfair.

While it's true that Miniverni no longer has a regular slot, it was predictable considering his almost daily work with the Marlins. And to their credit Joe Rose talks up the Fish, as does LeBatard and deForrest, and I've changed my opinion about Boog's new mid-afternoon gig.

After listening to his first few days I thought the handwriting was on the wall but in the last few days, since ST started he's doing live interviews with players on a daily basis, yesterday Leiter and today LoDuca, and seems more than willing to let bygones be bygones and speak well of the organization.

I don't think in any way anyone can compare the morning and afternoon drive time personalities on the two stations as it relates to the Marlins.

As far as 790, Buckethead in the mornings and Boog in the afternoon are both Marlins homers. Not sure about Defo, but I don't think it's his style to bash anyone. Haven't listened to McDuffie or LeBatard.

At 560, Mad Dog usually gives credit when credit's due to the Fish. Eddie K is a big Marlins homer.

Hammer's the only really stubborn Marlin-hater of the two stations, especially since he got suspended for talking about Loria's wife or whatever that was about.

Admittedly, Joe Rose has a tendency to go on and on about the Dolphins, especially during the season. But now that ST is here, he spends more time praising the Marlins, their off-season moves and the strong line-up, etc. Just yesterday they hosted the morning show at Roger Dean Stadium.

Florida Marlins

Team close to announcement

Several papers report the Marlins are close to agreeing to terms with University of California basketball announcer Roxy Bernstein about their vacant radio job on WQAM.

Bernstein has announced four seasons of minor league baseball, most recently with the Class A High Desert Mavericks of the California League and, previously, in the now-defunct independent Western League. Bernstein was also a fill-in on 15 San Francisco Giants broadcasts in 2003.

O.J. and Toast are completely incompetent...it is sad that they bounced Minervini for these two ignoramuses.
