Complaceny, Cockiness or just head-in-the-sand-dunes.

"Spring Training doesn't count at all, it's just conditioning."

Oh, LoDuca's injury is nothing, or just something to be expected.

Oh, Delgado doesn't really need Spring Training.

Oh, Conine will be ready by May.

Oh, Bill Robinson is not disturbed with all the 0-fers.

Oh, Cabs says his timing is sharp because of winter ball.

but he doesn't hit the ball yet. It's only Spring Training.

Oh, someone must have stolen Lowell's good bat.

Oh, it's great we actually won a game (on 3 unearned runs.)

Oh, crap.

This stinks. But, pitching program seems to be directed. Credit Wiley.

Fire Bill Robinson. Put pressure on all the complacent, cocky coaches and Jack.

Winning attitudes start in Spring Training. We are not HEADS-UP. We are prematurely fat. We are sinking in the quagmire of good pre-season press reports.

Spring training? We're talking about spring training? We're not talking about the game that they die for. We're talking about spring training, man. They know they should be there. They know that. They know they should lead by example... but we're talking about spring training.

C'mon Chin High, I expect a bit more from a savy veteran like yourself. I'm sure you realize there is absolutely no correlation between Spring Traing performance and Regular Season results - especially with a veteran squad like the Marlins. To call for Robinson's head is a knee-jerk reaction...if this pattern continues into May however, then there will be reason for concern. Until then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the rest of Spring Training...I'm sure you'll find plenty to complain about come April 4th.

Malman, I admit to occasionally posting an early morning provocative posting to enjoy the replies. Usually, as in this case, with a modicum of credibility.

I do think we have a problem. I know the players are doing their best (they are among the finest athletes in any sport.) So, in my frustratiion, I blame the coaches, particularly Bill Robinson but, ultimately, Jack.

I appreciated your response.

I know it's been a bit frustrating as of late...hopefully things will pick up soon. Take a look at the records in the AL...Toronto is 6-1 and the Yankees are 1-6...how do you think George Steinbrenner is handling things over in Tampa?

Losing is one thing, being the team in the majors to have scored the least amount of runs while playing among the most games is kinda hard to swallow.

Sure you can say its because its not the starters, so they will pound in the runs, but 3 or 4 of the guys that are playing every day will make it on the opening day roster on the bench, and it would be nice to see them be kinda productive, at least at a better clip than worst.

From the sounds of it the only reason we broke the 20 run mark is because LA wanted to play hot potato with the baseball.

I say get all this losing out of the way before the season starts. We will be fine as soon as the games count and there is a very good reason to play hard. Of course i want th marlins to win even in ST but i don't want them to get the everyday players to get to worked up about it. Take it easy until the late march games in ST. :marlins

I happen to share a great deal of the concern Chin High comments on regarding this spring training.

I'm of a mind that one of the reasons ticket sales (specifically regarding Opening Day) appear to be lagging is the absense of Carlos Delgado, and to a lesser degree LoDuca and others, combined with our pitiful showing so far in the 2005 Grapefruit League.

Simply there is no excitement, no buzz, no nothing, coming from camp and that translates into lukewarm media coverage and poor would-be attendance.

This team needs a jumpstart to get the 2005 season rolling and it needs it now.

how about plz don't flip it's onl SPRING TRAINING....Jeez i mean come its only spring training.SAY IT WITH ME SPRING TRAINING not real games that matter plz just relax will be ok when the season starts.

Oh Crap !

The Marlins should all give up. They suck. They're done. Season is over. Better luck next year. Im giving up my season ticket package, because we are done. Anyone interested in opening day.

Come on now. What kind of bull s#!t is this. They are 8 days into SPRING TRAINING stop being so ghey.

Yeah all those guys fighting for bench spots really are playing their hearts out, thats why they are flourishing and averaging less than 2 earned runs a game.

Because for them, there is no "when it counts" if they don't make the team.

I just think it is kinda sad that in 7 games the team has managed a total of 12 earned runs and 15 total.

706907[/snapback]

Quit being such a hatur. This team is the best ever. We're gonna kill it.

Its bad when the best hitter statistically is a picther.

Or the second best hitter is like your organization's 5th catcher.

Or that JP leads the regulars in SLG.

And look at Adrian Gonzalez, ripping it up. Why didn't we trade Stokes and that pitcher instead of him again?

The Marlins ended up WINNING THE WORLD SERIES, partly because of that trade. Do you have to HATE on everything? Do you complain about everything?

They could have gotten Ugie for Stokes and the pitcher we traded away last year who's name escapes me.

I for one am happy to see Stokes panned out well. =\

How do you know that is true? How do you know what Texas was willing to take? You dont know. You just wanna be the antagonist. You just want to play devils advocate.
