Guest Moneyball
Rumor has it that David Stern is considering giving the 2007 NBA All Star Game to Las Vegas. They spoke about it on NBA Fastbreak. This would be huge for the city of Las Vegas. IMO the NBA will be putting a team in Las Vegas within 5 years. They want to be the first to get in on an untouched pro sports market. Izzie
To totally get off-topic and add some homer insight, man they need to have an all-star game here. That would kick so much ass. If we can have the VMA's here, we can surely host an ASG :plain

Chi Town is much bigger than Miami, and we don't get s**t.

The league takes up all but a couple thousand seats and it ends up just upsetting the season ticket holders. Philadelphia has said they'll never host it again until the situation changes. Shaq-Man
They ought to move the Clippers. Have you ever heard of someone from LA being a Clippers fan? Looking at the two-team cities, there are tons of Mets fans in NY and plenty of White Sox fans in Chitown. There's also plenty of Jets, Giants, Rangers, Islanders, Angels, and Dodgers fans. But who on earth is a Clippers fan first and a Lakers fan second? The team is basically a farm system for the rest of the NBA...might as well move it to a city that actually cares. Guest Juanky
Yeah, and Barbara Streisand. In other news, Miami needs a damn baseball all star game. Basketball would be ok I guess but we need the baseball ASG we were promised years ago. Man would that be fun.
Accord
I believe Selig said the Marlins will most likely get the allstar game in ~2011 if we can get our new stadium.
miami15
After the ASG in LA a couple years ago the thought of Miami holding a game was brought up several times. However, we hosted the game in the early 90s so we'll just have to wait our turn.
