Rumor has it that David Stern is considering giving the 2007 NBA All Star Game to Las Vegas. They spoke about it on NBA Fastbreak.

 

 

This would be huge for the city of Las Vegas. IMO the NBA will be putting a team in Las Vegas within 5 years. They want to be the first to get in on an untouched pro sports market.

Teams don't even want to host the All Star Game. The league takes up all but a couple thousand seats and it ends up just upsetting the season ticket holders. Philadelphia has said they'll never host it again until the situation changes.

They ought to move the Clippers.

In other news, Miami needs a damn baseball all star game. Basketball would be ok I guess but we need the baseball ASG we were promised years ago. Man would that be fun.

I believe Selig said the Marlins will most likely get the allstar game in ~2011 if we can get our new stadium.

After the ASG in LA a couple years ago the thought of Miami holding a game was brought up several times. However, we hosted the game in the early 90s so we'll just have to wait our turn.
