July 29, 200321 yr I dont love it as much as COLLEGE GAMEDAY! I've been lucky enough to attend a few. Hey, my sign even made it in the 2002 Southeastern Athlon magazine (probably the national one too). There was an article on ESPN Gameday, and they showed a picture of the crew at the UT-UF game. I was there. If anyone has the magazine, look at the article, and look for the pic(s) with a big black sign that says: REX SURE PASSES NICE. The sign also has a bunch of orange and blue balloons attached to it. It was an awesome sign. I had version 1 of the sign in Columbia, SC a few weeks earlier for the USC v. UF game...needless to say, those fans were drunk at 9 am, and ripped my sign apart (and stole my hat, and threatened to rape me) before the show actually started. Thats ok, I didnt back down. The fact that I was dressed like it was 10 degrees under (when it turned out to be about 65-70 degrees), and someone continued to blow cigarette smoke into my face caused me to get sick and I almost passed out. So I didnt get to stay too much longer. Talk about a tangent.
July 29, 200321 yr I actually got tickets this year for Gator games :lol  Season tickets for 35$ when Id pay 35 jsut to see UF vs UT GO GATORS BABY!!!
July 29, 200321 yr u know why people play football? 'cause baseball takes skills. football takes skill and power. Mike Golic just said its a gladiator sport, which it is. football is one of the most exciting and intense sports around. baseball takes a lot of skill, but you aint gonna get f***ed up by some nasty hit unless you play catcher or get hit by a 95 mph fastball, things that dont happen all the time. it also takes alot of intelligence becuase you have to study and remember that thick a** playbook.
July 29, 200321 yr i'm talking about in general dumb dum. anybody can go to a park right around the corner and play football and do fairly ok even without no previous experience, but not anybody can catch a groundball or battle with a line drive in the outfield hit over your head, or hit.

Football is the hardest sport to explain. So many rules. There is nothing in the world like football. It is one of a kind, and a great American sport. Football takes so much intelligence and knowledge. Knowing playbooks (which is not easy...its not just a set of plays which u remember what they are, and then call them during a game....there are--in college--about 20 different formations, and about 8 different running plays for each formation. Then include the passing plays (anywhere from 4 to 20 passing plays per formation) and you are talkin about a bunch of plays). There is a reason more people play organized baseball (little league) than Pop Warner, or county or city league football. Football is a much tougher sport.
July 29, 200321 yr good luck playin by the rules then. Football is the hardest sport to explain. So many rules. hell yeah, iv'e explained the downs system to my dad repeatedly and he still doesnt get it. 2 point conversions, same thing.
July 29, 200321 yr but that's because he doesn't know the sport because he didn't grow with it or something. have you ever tried to explain baseball to someone? Â Â anyhow, i'm not talking about organized sport, just playing it, baseball is harder to play.
July 29, 200321 yr offsides, pass interference, holding, clipping (explain to someone that there can only be clipping if its outside the tackles!), play clock, etc. Throw in onside kicks, kickoffs that no one touches (thats a personal favorite....when playing organized football, but not in an official league, people seem to not be able to grasp that on a punt, if no one touches it, it is still the return team's ball, but on a kickoff if no one touches it, and it goes longer than 10 yards (even when its not on an onside kick) it is a live ball!). So many rules. Baseball: Basically, 3 outs, switch sides. There are strikes, balls, and then you just need to know force outs and such. About the most complicated thing is tagging up (unless you wanna throw in the infield fly rule).
July 29, 200321 yr baseball takes more hand-eye coordination.... football relies more on speed, strength, awareness, endurance, quickness, and intelligence.
July 29, 200321 yr its true he didnt grow up with it, he grew up in Cuba. but you said anyone without past experience can go to the park and play it. if you dont know the game, how can you play it at the park. funny thing happened to me once, i went to a canes game with a friend of mine last season because i had a extra ticket. i actually had to spend the entire game pointing out the ball to him. he's not from here but he has lived here for most of his life
July 29, 200321 yr marlins, i tell you that because i had the experience. the first time i ever played football it was like, alright just run when i tell you and turn around to catch the ball, if you pass that line we score, go it? yeah i got it. and catching the ball wasn't that difficult, try that with baseball.

What you just played is to football what teeball is to baseball. And I personally think catching a football is much more harder than catching a baseball. At least there isnt a guy trying to keep you from catching a baseball. In fact, people generally get out of your way. Try catching a pass coming across the middle of the field with a strong safety waiting to light you up, and a corner on your heels trying to catch the ball in front of you.

July 29, 200321 yr that isnt football. It aint football unless there is some sort of organization. Playing 2 hand touch, 2 completions for a first down, losers walk the field, backyard everyone go out for a pass....that aint football. That is comparable to playing baseball with ghost runners and 2 or 3 fielders.
July 29, 200321 yr who says it isn't football? it is not nfl football, but it is football. just like it is baseball when i play 4 on 4 with my friends and no base running.
July 29, 200321 yr What does this have to do with the Marlins? C'mon guys... game in 15 minutes! just having a little conversation before the game:D
