What can we do...

We got the point, you don't want Bill Robinson, but you fail to see that these guys are vets, they are not babies, and Bill can't stand there and hit for him, who are you suggesting we replace bill with anyway? Eddie Murray? Lenny Harris? Let's play this season out, and not MIS-MANAGE, which is what we have been doing!

Get Mikey and JP back on track.

Or cut bait on flashy non-hustling players (Encarnacion, who specializes in the extra wide turn around first that makes it seem he's thinking about going to second, but it's so wide and slow that he no longer can) and start players who want to win every day.

I hate to say this, but I'm thinking we made need some changes at the top to get the team motivated again...It's ridiculous that a team with this kind of talent is in 3rd place....

This is an excellent point, i hate how it is often noticeable that enc is giving a half-assed effort on the field or on the basepaths

wow. I never knew that. In a contract freakin year?

From what I gather here Willy has a bionic brain, x-ray vision, and telekinesis, so.... SEND HIM UP HAMMAR TIME!!!1 THEN SACR1FICE BUMP AND ROBINSON TO QUETZACOATL!!!

nothing we suck we will be in last place the rest of the year

Yep, thats the spirit... :shifty

what we need to do is set a consistent line up, all this juggle messes it up, go with the original lineup on the first day even w/ lowell struggling maybe having delgado in front will help him get out of the slump.

1.pierre

2.castillo

3.cabrera

4.delgado

5.lowell

6.lo duca

7.encarnacion

8.gonzo

OR take out the guys slumping, i know its contradicting but try one of the two

4.delgado

5.encarnacion CF

6.conine RF

7.easley 3B

an get rid off perisho and only put bump when we need someone to eat up innings, when we are getting blown out AND WHERE THE HELL IS DANNY GRAVES!!!!! reidling "mr insider" said he would come here, getting him over here, and try to trade for mesa maybe he could help us, because we are not going to get a big time closer or reliever like some of you would like or think we will get with a trade. and no for all you Willingham lovers dont bring him up, cause if we are going to give him a shot i rather have Joe Dillon play cause he put bigger #'s in the minors and thats what you guys are basing when you talk about willingham.

I agree completely with this post. We've strayed too far from the barn. Lowell is coming around. Time to show some confidence in him, its all he needs. Play the hot hand between Conine and Enc in rightfield, and use Easley as our main pinch hitter off the bench. If Easley was better in the field I would say find a place to play him, but he's not. All the changes have earned us last place. Back to how we win games. These guys will produce ...eventually! later...

Dillon's AAA Numbers:

AB: 141

HR: 13

RBI: 31

AVG: .305

OBP: .400

SLG: .631

Willingham's AAA Numbers:

AB: 156

HR: 16

RBI: 44

AVG: .327

OBP: .463

SLG: .718

Dillon certainly put up big numbers, but I don't see anyway you can say his offensive production was better than Willingham's. Willingham has put up better numbers in every major category. And, yes, I think having Willingham in the lineup would improve the Marlin's offense.

Firing Bill Robinson is not the answer -- the Marlins have one of (if not the) top BA in the league. Yes, they're not scoring with runners on, but is that really Robinsons' fault? Could Eddie Murray, Mattingly or anyone else do a better job? Doubtful. Robinson doesn't swing the bat.

Someone also mentioned that starting pitching was a problem. OK.. Leiter is not doing so hot (actually, he's been pretty good lately, just not getting run support). Other than that, they are solid! If you give up 1-2 runs and don't score any, you're going to lose. You can't expect a shut out every time.

Todd Jones is as solid of a closer as there is in baseball right now. 9 for 9. Too bad the Marlins never have a lead long enough for him to get in there these days. Perisho, Bump, Mota and the rest of them have been coughing up leads more than Mama Cass on a ham sandwich.

Now I read that Loria is going to "make some moves". I think Danny Graves, as cheap as he's available now is a good fit -- provided we don't sign him long term. If he can provide some stability for middle relief (or even close eventually) then so be it. A change from Cincinnati might be just what he needs to get back to the pitcher of old. And, if he turns out to be a Danny Kolb, then, well, he'll be in good company. Get rid of Nate BUMp.

The offense that inflates their batting average with empty 2-out and bases empty hits and can't score is what's making the bullpen look bad. No bullpen can be asked to lock down a game forever on such poor run support.

I think the Marlins' offense would benefit from aligning themselves with an Aztec god... GIVE IT A SHOT!

Firing Bill Robinson is not the answer -- the Marlins have one of (if not the) top BA in the league.? Yes, they're not scoring with runners on, but is that really Robinsons' fault?? Could Eddie Murray, Mattingly or anyone else do a better job?? Doubtful.? Robinson doesn't swing the bat.

Other than that, they are solid!? If you give up 1-2 runs and don't score any, you're going to lose.? You can't expect a shut out every time.

So Robinson gets all the credit if we hit well, but if we don't it's the players' fault? The man is paid to coach the offense, and when the offense doesn't produce it is his repsonsibility whether he picks up a bat or not.
