Posted June 6, 200519 yr June 3rd game pics June 4th game pics And I've seen this guy at like every Marlins game I've gone to in either NY or in DC. So is this someone from this board? Game Notes: - Fans in DC are much nicer than Mets fans. I don't think anyone ever cursed at me at either game and I think maybe 2 or 3 people total may have made any sort of remark to me. It was a pleasure to see a game there. - Whoever is the marketing person for the Nationals is a genius. Literally 80-90% of the people at the game have some sort of Nationals merchandise. - The Livan/Beckett game was a great game to watch, even if the Marlins lost. - Nick Johnson owns us. - Only on the Saturday game did a few fans do that thing Oriole fans do during the national anthem which resulted in a chorus of boos.
June 6, 200519 yr That is the same person I saw Friday that I thought was Rferry for some reason. I do agree that DC fans are pretty relaxed about opposing fans. I got maybe one comment going my way. Outside the stadium you can get a Nationals shirt and hat for $15 which is one hell of deal which may be part of the reason so many people have merchandise.

June 6, 200519 yr Nice pics. The Nats mascot is so cute.... but not as cute as Billy. Who's everyone else?
June 6, 200519 yr There were many Marlins fans at the stadium. I'd venture to say more than Braves or Brewers fans. Unfortunetly there wasn't much to cheer about. The entire city was draped with Nats caps before spring training came. MLB didn't even bother to market the team until this past week. That's why you saw the upper deck filled on Saturday when they invited 50 alumni associations and Sunday, little leaguers. It looks like you moved around quite a bit. The RFK staff has been a little more attentive recently. Did they give you any bother? P.S. 'Sup? P.P.S. I think I saw you on the metro. Sweet teal t-shirt.
June 6, 200519 yr Well, technically all Nationals fans are bandwagoners right now, so they really aren't hardcore yet. When you leave the stadium most of the traffic tends to be southbound, so it's pretty obvious most are from the northern Virginia area. I bet a lot of them haven't even been to a baseball game before this year. 797857 That does seem to be the case, but when they were showing the names of the college alumni associations on the jumbotron, every one of Maryland's rivals, including Virginia, were soundly booed.
June 6, 200519 yr Author Nice pics. The Nats mascot is so cute.... but not as cute as Billy. Who's everyone else? 797999 The Nats mascot (Screech) was meaner to me than Mr. Met. First, he (is it a he?) ran away, then just ignored me and finally after 20 minutes took a picture with me. The others in the photos are friends from home. It looks like you moved around quite a bit. The RFK staff has been a little more attentive recently. Did they give you any bother? P.S. 'Sup? P.P.S. I think I saw you on the metro. Sweet teal t-shirt. 798000 I had two different seats, but the staff was pretty vigilant. Fri night I had seats in 200 section and Sat night I had seats at 400 section. The upclose pics were from batting practice. And I take it that picture of the person I took is you? If it is, like I posted earlier I've seen you off and on for the past year or so. Next time I'll actually say hi instead of snapping photos of you when you're not looking.
June 6, 200519 yr Anyone notice this? And to make matters worse, Florida pitcher A.J. Burnett was firing 97 mph fastballs so routinely that Robinson had the speed gun turned off on the scoreboard to spare his hitters the despair of looking at a string of 97s flashing their way. /---/ Washington Post
June 6, 200519 yr Author Speaking of speed, Beckett topped out at 90/91 on the gun at RFK which was surprisingly low to me.
June 6, 200519 yr That's not me but I was there on June 3rd. And I disagree, my girlfriend and I really didn't like the way the Nationals fans acted.
June 7, 200519 yr Thats not me in the pic, I would never go to d.c., let alone some ugly looking 1960's stadium. It looks like it does have a bigger out field than KFC part or what ever they call that place in Pittsburgh.

Give DC some credit, they didn't have much time to get it ready and they've done a fine job. During this offseason, I bet they could make it even better, perhaps paint the seats a bright red, white and blue and add more anemities. You've probably never even been to RFK, have you?
June 7, 200519 yr The only stadiums I have been to are, Tropicana field, (tampa) Now that was a nice stadium,Nice and cool inside. and pro player, thats a very bold and hard stadium, pro player has a great sound system! Iv never been to KFC stadium, I mean RFK. Im sure its okay.

June 7, 200519 yr RFK is beyond fixable. The concourses are too small to add modern amenities. It's better than a 15K minor league facility though. rferry isn't that you? i saw the same picture on your myspace? I thought we pretty much established that.

I bet a lot of them haven't even been to a baseball game before this year. What do Oriole fans do for the National Anthem? 797823 Everyone in the stadium shouts "OH" at the beginning of the line "O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave." It is incredibly stupid. 797857 That's not exclusive to Orioles fans. We do it for basketball games in Cameron but I'm not sure why, exactly...
