The Associated Press reports Texas Rangers SS Alex Rodriguez would consider being traded if the move would better the Rangers now or down the road. "If the Rangers found they could be better off without me, whether now or a year or two down the road, I'd be willing to sit down and talk," said Rodriguez. "When I signed here, I thought we'd make a hard turn toward improvement. Obviously, we're in a very tough division. I want what's best for (Rangers owner) Mr. (Tom) Hicks, if it were down to the Rangers improving or me being happy."

Do you think we could get A-Rod to play SS down here? I think Alex Gonzalez is the weakest hitter on our starting line-up. Imagine A-Rod in our line-up. You think we're unstoppable now? *drool*

Why do you guys think it's impossible? We've picked up big players in the past... and if we're really going to try and make a run for it, why not?

no way in hell. i dont care how good a player is, no one and i mean NO ONE is worth $25 million a year. espn.com had an article on this subject which i posted on the MLB forum

yes he can play here... in a matter of 3-4 years when we have the same kinda ball Park on my SIG by Bayside and have a winning team, and makin $$$$$ as if it grows on trees...

we will have a 100 mil pay roll... and a man by the name A.rod.....

if you think about it, it cant happen. even if the Rangers try to trade him who's going to take him? the only other team that can afford him already has a pretty good SS (obviously the Yankees). the Mets could afford him but they're not exactly in the mood to be taking on that type of salary after this 2 year disaster.

would you like mustard or ketchup? are you serious? even if we wanted to get him, how in the hell will we pay him? a lemonade stand? the only other team that can pay him already got a SS. also, there is no way in hell anyone should be paid $252 million over 10 years, its f***ing ridiculous. $252 million is a little more than what George W. Bush's group received for the team.
