and I guess we can assume Beckett pitched well.

Top of 8 - still scoreless per ESPN.com.

Finally we win one. We were in a big slump.... :o

The Minor Leaguers lost in the other games...

When you lose in the late innings during a ST game it's usually because of the Minor Leaguers

Here's the game wrapup against the Braves...

Solid work from Josh Beckett!

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Jesus Medrano's two-run single and Sherman Obando's RBI double ignited a four-run eighth inning Friday as the Marlins upended the Braves 4-1 at Cracker Jack Stadium.

The Marlins snapped a scoreless deadlock with a two-out rally by rolling off five straight hits that produced all four runs off Chris Haney.

Matt Treanor started the rally with a single and took third on Josh Wilson's single. After Wilson stole second, Medrano lined a two-run single up the middle. Gerald Williams added an RBI single and scored on Obando's double.

The win snaps a four-game losing streak for the Marlins. Left-hander Armando Almanza picked up the win.

Two defensive gems by catcher Pudge Rodriguez in the first helped right-hander Josh Beckett toss three shutout innings.

A 10-time Gold Glove winner with the Rangers, Rodriguez threw out Mark DeRosa trying to steal second. With two outs, and on ball four to Chipper Jones, Rodriguez picked Nick Green off third.

Helped by a 6-4-3 double play in the third, Beckett completed his final two innings facing the minimum six batters.

The 22-year-old right-hander gave up two hits, struck out two and walked a pair.

Maddux was dominant in his second spring start, facing just nine batters and tossing 35 pitches in three innings. The only Marlin to reach was leadoff hitter Luis Castillo, who opened the game with a single. But the All-Star was thrown out by right fielder Gary Sheffield trying stretch the hit to a double.

Maddux showed something at the plate too, singling off Beckett in the third.
