Other starters mentioned are Horacio Ramirez, Jerome Williams, Danny Haren, Zach Day and former Marlin farmhand Claudio Vargas. good stuff but as always Kurkjian doesnt give a Marlin ( Trelle) his credit.

August 5, 200322 yr Author in other new news i read that MLB signed a new license agreement for authentic and replica apperal and each team will recieve aprox. $3.3 million dollars a year for the next 5 years as part of the agreement. the article is on MLB.com

August 5, 200322 yr guys brandon webb is a badass in the making he's prob. gonna give dontrelle a rain for his money for nl rookie of the year if you look at the stats d train has more wins but webb hld the oppostion to a lower batting average. if you give me the choice i will take d train. but webb is another badass.

August 5, 200322 yr Webb doesn't get as much attention but he's just as good. Webb lost but Penny pitched as well as he has ever pitched that game, and Willis wouldn't have won unless Spivey made the error. I think Webb is just as good as Willis he just doesn't have Willis' personality, I hope in the long run Willis will be better.

Webb has a better ERA by like .02 (this is all straight from memory). Yet, Willis has had 6 non-quality starts. One could say, well, look at all those non-quality starts. Throw in that 2 were because of rain outs. Then just think how good Willis has been in other starts to bring his ERA down to .02 higher than Webb's. Willis has more Ks (straight from memory could be wrong), and has a 1-hitter. Webb has been outstanding for the Dbacks and has not had near as much attention as he should, but I still give the edge to Willis.

ERA is something close to that (I'm gonna work from memory on numbers too, no surprise I usualyl do). Willis' K/9 In blow Webb's out of the water. Webb has more starts, Willis more wins. Webb has better average against. I still think Willis gets the nod of ROY, especially since many people (myself included) think he should win CY Young.
August 6, 200322 yr i think he should and most prob. will win nl roy but there are other guys that could win it over d train but i think he seriously has a chance. since valenzuela made it with 14 wins
