Tropical Storm Franklin

Featured Replies

Weather Channel says that this system in the Bahamas could become a depression or even a tropical storm at the 5 o'clock update. A circulation is becoming easily apparent in the latest satellite loop.

Beinfest told me 3 days ago too watch it.. i have... the kid is really good.. he picked it up on his own..

Local NWS stations for Melbourne and Miami are forecasting the High to build to the west forcing the storm on its loop towards Florida. Right now, the strengthening forecast appears a bit conservative because the incredibly high water heat content and the relatively deep water there. Thus providing a lot of high oceanic content feeding the storm.

That's too funny. But I guess its expected to stall out and they don;t know if the steering winds will carry it north or due west.

Most likely won't affect us Floridaners, but this is certainly the most active hurricane season I've seen. We might even get to the W storm this year. :mischief

So Mr. Chewbacca, what makes you say that? Because no one else is saying that.

I was driving around for two hours today looking for a place I never found on Sunrise Blv. and three different radio stations said it probably won't effect us.

So, for those of you with good memories, does the 5 day forcast remind you of anything (even though it is just a tad farther north?)

lol. I saw the top of your post, cgator, and said to myself "hey, that looks familiar." Then scrolled down. :cool

Does all that time spent spinning around off the coast give it a great opportunity to build strenght?

yes.

Or due to upwelling, cause itself to weaken.

The tropical storm will take a turn toward the northeast and steer away from Florida so that the Florida Marlins can play their home games without having to go to Chicago.
