  1. Rumor Update: The Miami Heat seeking a true back-up point guard have shown considerable interest in now free agent point guard Nick Van Exel. The Heat believe he could be a lethal weapon off their bench and could be better than Damon Jones who is likely heading to Cleveland. In my opinion, he would be a terrific addition to our team. He is a veteran player who has great shooting and passing abilities. Would you want him on our bench? 2. Shaquille O'Neal displayed a great sense of character by taking a significant paycut in his salary. It shows his great commitment and poise for a championship. The Lakers are going to see why they made the biggest error in NBA history. He put the team before himself because he wants to make this team a champion. Thank you Shaq. Now, let's go get Jason Williams, Antoine Walker, and maybe Michael Finley and turn this team into a new dynasty for years to come. LET'S GO HEAT!!!!!

  4. According to reports, G Jeff McInnis signed a two year deal worth 7 million with the New Jersey Nets. According to several sources, the Suns agree to a sign and trade deal with the Hawks that would send G/F Joe Johnson to the Hawks for G Bobby Diaw.
  5. The Heat is looking like a team ready for an overhaul. According to official league sources around the NBA, the Miami Heat are currently in discussions about two possible trades. The first trade would send G/F Eddie Jones to the Memphis Grizzlies for oft-problematic G Jason Williams and F James Posey. This deal would save the Heat approximately $2 million in salary cap room. The other deal being well-discussed around the league is a sign-and-trade deal where the Boston Celtics would sign F Antoine Walker to a 2 year deal and trade him to Miami in exchange for C/F Michael Doleac, F Jerome Beasley, and the $1.9 million trade exception acquired in the Steve Smith for Malik Allen deal. If these two trades happen, the Miami Heat would be an incredibly deep team. Starting Lineup C Shaquille O'Neal PF Udonis Haslem SF Antoine Walker PG Jason Williams SG Dwayne Wade Bench F James Posey F Rasual Butler F Dorrell Wright F Wayne Simien C Wang Zhi-Zhi The rest of the bench depends on the rest of the Miami Heat's free agent signings. In other rumors, the Miami Heat could resign G Damon Jones and are interested in G Nick Van Exal, G Michael Finley, and G Marko Jaric. 6. On ProSports Daily, I found an interesting article. Apparently, the A's want to create a new Big Three by attempting to acquire Burnett from Florida. The link is below. This could be an interesting trade between Billy Beane and Admin beinfest, two very creative, methodical GM's. Now, the question is who the Marlins would gain in return. Some friends of mine would love to see Mark Kotsay back in a Marlins uniform and to see young lefty Joe Kennedy join our staff. One player I would love to add is young right-handed starter Dan Haren. In addition, if we would be able to package Lowell in the deal, I would love to see Kotsay back in our outfield as another solid contact hitter for our team. Did you know he is only 29? Plus, the Athletics just signed him to a three-year extension which if acquired, would lessen our need to resign Encarnacion in the offseason or would allow us to move Pierre. What do you think? Thanks. Link: http://www.insidebayarea.com/sports/ci_2898363 By the way, watch the tropics. There is a new concern for South Florida that could impact us on Saturday.
  7. They are going to catch the Cardinals. At the present rate they are going, they could surpass the Cardinals by season end. They are an amazing squad with terrific youngsters. I'd keep as good as an eye on them as South Floridians do with the tropics. This team, in my opinion, will make the playoffs, and if they can acquire another bat in the outfield, they could win the NL.
  8. Ambres was a Rule 5 Draft Free Agent with the Marlins. That means if the player did not make the 25 man roster, he would become a free agent. Ambres signed with the Red Sox.
  9. Guys, This is the third time in nearly four seasons Manny Ramirez has requested a trade. He has yet to be traded by the Red Sox. In my opinion, Manny will not be traded due to his large, bloated contract. But, one possibility for the Marlins to acquire Manny Ramirez is to participate in a three team trade between the Marlins-Red Sox-Twins. Here is my proposed deal. Florida Acquires: OF Manny Ramirez SP Bronson Arroyo RP Chad Bradford cash Boston Acquires: SP A.J. Burnett 3B Mike Lowell RP J.C. Romero OF Jacque Jones Minnesota Acquires: 3B Bill Mueller 1B Kevin Millar RP Alan Embree This deal would benefit all parties involved. This would ensure the Marlins a World Series. Manny Ramirez in the Marlins lineup would be dramatically better than the Yankees lineup. Another scenario is another three team trade between the Marlins-Red Sox-Rockies. Florida Acquires: OF Manny Ramirez SP Bronson Arroyo RP Brian Fuentes INF Desi Relaford cash (from Boston) Boston Acquires: SP A.J. Burnett 1B Todd Helton 3B Mike Lowell cash (from Colorado) Colorado Acquires: 1B Kevin Millar 3B Bill Mueller RP John Riedling RP Alan Embree These trades make sense and I would like to get further comment about these trades. Thanks. P.S. The D-Train is back on the train tracks and is ready to roll! He's Rick James Bitches!

As usual, the Braves know their talent and use home-grown products out of various schools in Georgia to build depth in their minor league system. This guy can possibly replace the void left by J.D. Drew. He is a sensational player that deserves alot of respect. Another steal for the Braves. I would watch this kid in the future. He is a solid player.
  11. Hey fauowls44, I heard this morning that the Heat had worked out a deal with Walker from the Big "O" on 560 WQAM this morning at 5:14 A.M. on my way to work. I am just telling you what I heard this morning. By the way, good luck to the FAU Owls in their first season of NCAA Football play. They should be a good team.
  12. Last night, ESPN Radio reported that the Miami Heat have agreed to terms on a two to three year deal for the $5.1 million mid-level exception with F Antoine Walker. Walker will play small forward while Haslem will keep his spot at power forward. Here is the Heat lineup next year. C Shaquille O'Neal PF Udonis Haslem SF Antoine Walker SG Eddie Jones PG Dwayne Wade That is a hell of a lineup. This is a great bargain for the Heat if Walker can make the best with his extreme talent. He is a great shooter and rebounder. He needs to work on his defense. ***Hey Guys, I made a mistake. I misinterpreted the Big "O" this morning. Must have been how tired I was waking up at 4 A.M. to go to work. Sorry if I got you all excited about this news. My bad. But, you have to admit that this would be the sickest lineup in the NBA.
  13. Is anyone going to come after me after all the insults I inflicted on this entire board? Come on. Get your revenge on me if you wish. I feel that I deserve this.

    Apology

Dear Fan Forum Members, You may recall that exactly one year ago on this date that I voiced some harsh opinions towards my fellow members for not accepting my ideas. I am not making any excuses for my actions and accept responsibility for my aggressive actions. I should accpeted your opinions in a more diplomatic fashion and I express my sincerest apologies to those whom I may have hurt or offended. Please accept me back as an active member of this great fan forum. I feel like a totally different person now than one year ago. This will never happen again. In addition, I will do my part to help you guys when I can. I want to change my ways. Again, I give you my sincerest apologies for my prior actions. Thank you very much for your time and attention. God bless you all.
  16. The tropical storm will take a turn toward the northeast and steer away from Florida so that the Florida Marlins can play their home games without having to go to Chicago.
  17. Hey pierremvp1, I have some advice so your voice can be heard. Mail the letter to the following address: 2267 Dan Marino Blvd. Miami, Florida 33056 (305) 623-6100 And wrote after the address "To the Attention of: Admin Beinfest / Jeffrey Loria". I have written letters to players for autographed memorabilia and have recieved autographed used game jerseys and balls and bats. Maybe, this will work. I want to express my support for all Marlin fans through this rocky stretch in our franchise's history. I want Burnett to stay. By the way, that was a well-written letter with alot of heart. You are a great representative of us die-hard Florida Marlin fans. Keep up the good efforts and remember I have your back. Thanks for making us proud by taking an affirmative stand. But, if Loria and Beinfest feel this would be best for the organization, I would have to go against your point but will still actively support you.
  18. If you are just beginning your dynasty or owner's mode, here are three must get players for your future. 1. RF Wes Krukow from Giants 2. 1B Greg Rushton from Giants 3. SS Khalil Greene from Padres As I go on with my franchise, I will give you more advice to improve your team so all Marlins owners on the game can have great success in the future.
  19. NirvanaNole has an interesting idea. After this deal, can the Marlins acquire another bat in their lineup? We have plenty of possibilities. One guy I would love to see in a Marlins uniform is Rondell White. He is a great fielder and can hit for average and has some pop in his bat. Other names could include Joe Randa, Eric Byrnes, etc.
  20. From www.prosportsdaily.com, this is the latest offer. Florida Marlins Acquire: SP Bronson Arroyo SP Joe Mays RP Juan Rincon Boston Red Sox Acquire: SP A.J. Burnett 3B Mike Lowell RP J.C. Romero Minnesota Twins Acquire: 3B Bill Mueller RP Matt Perisho player to be named later This would be a good deal for all three teams involved. Arroyo is not eligible for free agency until 2008, Rincon had 11 wins last season, and Mays has a good slider. Burnett has been commented by Curt Schilling as having the nastiest stuff in the majors. Mueller is a former batting champ. Are these rumors true? Thanks.
  21. On www.prosportsdaily.com in the MLB Rumors page, they Philadelphia newspaper stated that Dodgers manager Jim Tracy would prefer Lowells pop than Polancos liners. That would be an interesting trade. Who would the Dodgers give up? Keep in mind, they gave us the heart and soul of their offense, a great defensive outfielder and their setup man (Paul LoDuca, Guillermo Mota, and Juan Encarnacion) for Brad Penny (inconsistent starter), Hee Seop Choi (can't hit against lefties), and Bill Murphy (prospect that was severely overrated). Could we grab Milton Bradley or one of their starters or even a great prospect like an Antonio Perez or Edwin Jackson? Could there be a package of Lowell and another player like Leiter or Pierre? In addition, I heard that a lot of struggling teams are showing some interest in Leiter. One team is the Kansas City Royals.
  22. Al Leiter is a struggling 39-year-old left hander. Not to mention, he is the highest paid pitcher in Marlins history. So why are we keeping him? I realize that Leiter has an $8 million contract, but it can't be that hard to find a trading partner like the Yankees or Mets who can take his salary. We could get a relief pitcher from the Yankees or possibly Kevin Brown from the Yankees. But, I know that I have stupid ideas in my hot head so I am asking you, if the Marlins were to trade Leiter, who could we get in return and where would he land? Thanks. P.S. Watch out for hurricane season! It is going to be nasty. In addition, watch out this afternoon for severe thunderstorms.
  23. Reggie Miller Words cannot even begin to describe the contributions that he made not only to his team but to the entire league. He brought life into the game. He ressurected a dying Pacers team. This is going to be one of the saddest retirements in the game's history. He was as much of a legend as Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Magic Johnson, and John Stockton. He will be sorely missed by the NBA and the Indiana Pacers organization. I wish I could personally thank him for his contributions and spectacular memories. Good luck with the rest of your life Reggie.
  24. I believe that the Marlins amy give Hermida a chance next season and let Encarnacion and Conine go in order to save money to build up our pitching staff.
  25. In Sunday's Miami Herald sports section, on page 2 under South Florida Sports Buzz, some managers and genral managers around baseball say that the Dodgers would be a very real partner in a Mike Lowell trade. Who would the Marlins recieve in return for Lowell? Quite frankly, I don't think the Dodgers would want a slumping Lowell. But then again, they traded the heart of their team in Paul LoDuca, Guillermo Mota, and Juan Encarnacion to the Marlins in the middle of last season. Who is to say that Paul DePodesta will not take a risk in Lowell in the middle of the season?
