Osama bin Laden tried to buy large amounts of cocaine, spike it with poison and sell it in the United States, it has been claimed.

 

His plan failed when Colombian drugs barons told the terror chief it would be bad for their business, according to the New York Post.

 

The newspaper said it had reviewed a document detailing a US probe into the aborted transaction and the Drug Enforcement Administration's findings.

Somewhat ingenious, no one would really notice if all the crack heads started falling off but then again that defeats the purpose of a large scale attack.

If they're buying coke, it might only be recreational so the dealers have customers that come and buy every (or perhaps other) weekend. Anyway, I kinda wish OBL did this one. Imagine seeing a bunch of rich white collar types and all sorts of crackheads around the US getting killed and the ones who did it but did not happen to use that batch would stop because it would certainly kill them as opposed to only the possibility of it killing them.

It said cocaine. Not only crack heads would have died, but anyone that uses cocaine I suppose. You'd be surprised how many people do. And Rune, their business is to sell drugs, of course cocaine is bad for people, but poisoned cocaine is bad for business, good cocaine is not.

It's bad for their business when people buy just a little crack and die, rather than a lot of crack before they die.

 

This plot reminds me vaguely of the Tom Clancy book "The Teeth of the Tiger", where terrorists work together with Columbian and Mexican drug lords to get terrorists into the U.S. through the porous Mexico/U.S. border, and they then wreak havoc in the country.

Yeah I think powder cocaine was more his target. A lot more people do powder cocaine than is realized. Druglords dont stay in business because of crackheads.
