Bazardo's a flame thrower that can't strike guys out. Even prior to his failed call-up this year, the organization viewed his potential as a setup-man, not a starter or closer.

Redman's a huge upgrade to Valdez, although I'd love to see what Vargas can do in the rotation if you can get this deal done take it and run.
July 31, 200521 yr I'd probably make this trade even though Redman pitched poorly tonight. 881303[/snapback] Today's game makes, I believe, either seven bad starts out of eight, or eight bad starts out of nine, for Mark Redman. If the Pirates have an interest in Bazardo, I have no problem with moving him, but let's get someone in exchange who can actually help the Marlins, either offensively, defensively, or pitching. One of the problems for the Fish is so many minor league guys are hurt - Willingham, Reed, Stokes, Olsen - are either on the DL or ailing. Makes transactions with teams like the Pirates difficult.
