August 15, 200520 yr 60. Northern Illinois 69. Illinois Yep. And hopefully we prove to be the best team in the state by beating Northwestern in their house on September 10th.

Have you heard anything about SIU possibly moving to the MAC and jumping from D1-AA to D1?

SIU doesn't have the football facilities or the football attendance to jump to the MAC.
August 15, 200520 yr Yea 104. Temple will fit right in with 108. Eastern Michigan, 109. Western Michigan, 110. Central Michigan, 111. Ball State and 118. Buffalo.

They have a great d-1AA football team and like you said the bball program would be a great addition for bball, I just do not think it is going to happen.

I dont think they'd have a problem transitioning to basketball though. Probably get right into the conference championship mix in b-ball.
August 15, 200520 yr Man, I can't wait for football to get here. When all these practices and preseason garbage ends, it will be on. That Texas game is going to be my first Buckeyes game this season and I believe the Bengals/Vikings will be that same weekend. Oh, I'm going to be so broke this season. I wub it.

August 15, 200520 yr Man, I can't wait for football to get here.? When all these practices and preseason garbage ends, it will be on. That Texas game is going to be my first Buckeyes game this season and I believe the Bengals/Vikings will be that same weekend.? Oh, I'm going to be so broke this season.? I wub it. 902806 We will try to beat Michigan for you, doubt it will happen, but god it would be awsome if it did! 902807 Yeah, I hope you don't. Nobody needs to beat Michigan but the Buckeyes. If we're number 2 at the end of the season then they better be number 1.
August 15, 200520 yr Author Was it someone on here saying Garrett Wolfe was a Heisman candidate? Maybe if he didn't play in the MAC, but the kid has game. How much does it cost to go to an NIU game if your not a student?

No hopefully this year @Michigan and next year @Ohio State we give them a game. Thats all I can ask for keep it close for awhile and then who knows what can happen.
August 15, 200520 yr It's going to be pretty crazy when #98 Duke rolls into #6 Miami later this year.

August 15, 200520 yr How is Bowling Green #23 and NIU #60 when NIU beat Bowling Green last year with our backup QB playing and finished ahead of them in MAC play??? The only reason that they are in the top 25 is because of Omar Jacobs.

August 15, 200520 yr Author Stregnth of schedule maybe? Preseason rankings in NCAA football are garbage alot of the time anyway, so I wouldn't be too worked up over it.
August 15, 200520 yr Stregnth of schedule maybe? Preseason rankings in NCAA football are garbage alot of the time anyway, so I wouldn't be too worked up over it. 902834 It has nothing to do with SOS NIU played @Maryland and @Iowa State. Bowling Green did play @Oklahoma but there other to non-conference games were Temple and SE Missouri State. So if anything it would have been a wash in out of conference. So I doubt that had anything to do with it.
August 15, 200520 yr Author Yea, good point. NIU has been extremely decent the last few years and have got no love from the people who do the rankings. It usually takes 6 or 7 weeks for them to even sniff the top 25.
August 15, 200520 yr YES!!!!! Wyoming is rated, Mountain West conference title, here we come 902853 Fear Lynell Hamilton
