Iowa ranked 12th.. that sounds about right. Gotta get that DLine some experience and figure out who our RB is. We have about 5 guys fighting hard for the job.. whoever emerges will produce.

It says Marques Simmons.

Unless the writer of that article is Kirk Ferentz himself, it hasn't been decided yet.... but thanks anyway.

I'd put my money on Albert Young.. atleast I hope thats who it is. Incoming freshman Shonn Greene is a freak of nature. Simmons is a bowling ball. Any one of those 3 and I'll be happy. Damian Sims, Marcus Schnoor and Sam Brownlee are supposedly in the running but I doubt they'll get many carries.

It says Iowa was 2nd to last in rushing yds/game last year at 72.6/game. Ouch. It said that Simmons is supposed to come back strong from injury. And Drew Tate is supposed to be a monster playmaker the playmaker.

Anyway, best of luck :thumbup although schedule isn't easy(Ball State, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, Ohio State, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Michigan, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Minnesota).

Iowa is going to be quite good this season.

I can't wait for them to come to the 'Shoe though...revenge is waiting.

We've got quite the fun little non-conference schedule this year. Miami of Ohio to open, Texas at night, and then the aforementioned Lynell Hamilton and SDSU come to town.

And I must respectfully disagree with Buckeye's take on Michigan. I hope they go 0-11, I don't care what their record is when we play them, I don't care what they're ranked, I just want to beat them. And it's always funny when they lose to some nonsense team they're not supposed to because their coach sucks. :) I hope Wolfe and Harris run for 300 on them, I would laugh with hateful glee.

YES!!!!!

Wyoming is rated, Mountain West conference title, here we come

902853

That will belong to New Mexico!

DonTrelle Moore and Hank Baskett.. I can't stand our QB.

In The Triangle:

31. NC State

72. Carolina

98. Duke

also the "Mr. Irrelevant" game as SI calls it is FAU vs. FIU :lol

Can anyone fathom how a team was 2nd to last in the whole NCAA in rushing yet finished in the Top 10?

Yes.

Then again, I watched a team go 10-2 and win the Fiesta Bowl with one of the worst offenses I've ever seen in 2003, so I can relate.

Can't wait for our game Hugg.. just wish it wasn't so early in the season.

Tell me about it.

One thing I do know though, if we're 4-0 after our game...

it's on.

Hey, Krenzel was a stud! So was Clarett(SP). Anyhow, I assume you two are talking about Ohio State and Iowa, which sohuld be a really good game, although it looks like Ohio State has the harder schedule leading up to the game.

You're foolish, SUN.

I want our game to mean something. All eyese on the Big House, so when we beat them it's on and on and on and on, SUN.

Oh yeah, cause it doesn't mean something anyway.

We need to win our games, who cares what they do?

The 2003 offense Hugg was referring to had neither of those pieces on it.

And Krenzel was not a stud.

903182

For the 02 team he sure as hell was. He played his role perfectly and had alot of big gains with his own two legs and big play after big play during the season. There have been alot more players with alot more talent that will never be the winner Krenzel was.

We had Krenzel, just no Clarett, it's just Krenzel wasn't that great. :lol

It was Krenzel, a criminally underused Michael Jenkins, Lydell "1 yard and a cloud of dust" Ross and Maurice "-1 yard and a cloud of dust" Hall. The offensive line was garbage and we ran too much anyway.

This was the year McMullen brought us back vs. Penn State and people here were actually calling for him to keep the job.

I really don't know how we won 10 games that year.

Edit...nvm, they had Craig...no Clarett.

I won't disagree that he made more with less then just about anyone did, but that does not mean he was a stud.

The prevent defense Ohio State used against Kansas State the last quarter and a half of the Fiesta Bowl was disgusting as well. It was gut renching watching KSU come back and keeping it a game because of that god awful prevent D.

How that Ohio State offense put up that many points against Kansas State baffles me.

Yeah, but it couldn't ruin the sheer brilliance of that game. We "had no chance" and we ran them off the field.

Kind of like the Alamo Bowl this past year, although we were just underdogs, not TD+ dogs. That game only won me about 600 bucks.

If Tressel has time to prepare, I'll pick us every time.
