It seems that over the years, Broward and WPB fans have comprised most of their fan base. I believe most of the Marlins season ticket holders come from Broward.

Which doesn't say much, since we have about 4 season ticket holders.

And another thing, Broward fans simply don't go to the games.

Its shark week, what do you expect?

Your opinion of the seats on the baselines is something else I agree with. They aren't great. If you sit somewhere behind home plate, it's fine.

I don't see what's so bad about the seats on the baselines, other than if you're sitting in deep in the OF along the baselines. That view sucks no matter what stadium you go to.

I've been to Turner Field in Atlanta and the old Veterans Stadium in Baltimore, and JRS was by far a better place to watch baseball (if you're there to just watch the game). At Turner field, if you sit just halfway up the upper level, it looks like you're watching the game from 5 miles away. It, literally, took a little over an hour just to get out of Veterans Stadium's parking lot. I went to Opening Day this year, and was out of JRS in about 15 minutes.

Where I'd say JRS gets beat is how Turner Field is one of those new mallparks has a lot of extra amenities like restaurants and stuff like that, but I go to baseball stadiums to watch baseball games. If I wanted to go to the mall, I'd go to the mall (and not pay such a ridiculous mark-up).

Africkingmen

Is there another PPS stadium that I haven't heard of or something? Sight lines in any seat more than 50 feet down either baseline are horrible, traffic is abysmal (even at a game that only draws 15K), 40 percent of the seats can't see both scoreboards, only 1 out of every 3 concessions are open, it rains every day and in-stadium temperature is usually somewhere around 600 degrees.

I would hope that any of you that have been to a real ballpark would agree that, when compared to almost every other park out there PPS is severly deficient. The only saving grace PPS has for baseball is that for the last 5 years you could pay $4 to $10 bucks and have the equivilant of a private game with less fans than what it would take to fill up your backyard. Heck, for a 20-spot Henry would let you pitch an inning or two during the week.

And what's with that "500 miles north" comment? I assume that a reference to JAX

that was wholly unsupported by any factual evidence. The only reason JAX gets props for being so big is because the city is about 62,923 square miles in area.

Ok, got he negativity out of me today.... Sec 149 tonite. I guess if you get close enough in any stadium the seats are great..... Thank you God!!!

The outdoor environment sucks during the day, but I disagree about everything else. I think the views are fine. I just don't get seats deep in the OF along the lines. Also, why would you need to see both scoreboards? What's one going to tell you that the other one couldn't?

Also, I don't know what 15k games you've been to where it was so hard to get out of the stadium. At 15k, I'm on 27th Ave. heading for the Palmetto in 10 minutes tops.

Marlingirl, have you ever tried getting there during traffic? My friend Santi and I got in the car and like true guy's guys we took care of our stomachs first. Took us forty minutes to traverse the first 10 minutes of the usual trip.

Traffic is traffic is traffic is traffic.

Whether it's in South Florida or Atlanta or Los Angeles or New York. Everyone goes through the same thing.

And, Broward fans simply don't go to games.

Okay, Mr. Attendance Man. Did you go ask everyone in the stadium their current county of residence? No? I didn't think so.

Did you or any of the other "experts" ask around the stadium? No. I've been there enough times, I've been to Broward enough times and live in Miami. I can infer where a person is from by looking at them, thank you very much.

And if anyone were to find out what the figures are, bring them up. I bet mroe Miami-Dade people go to the games.

First of all, I never classified myself as an "expert."

You can tell where someone is from by looking at them? That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. Thanks for the laugh.

I must be the only person who never has any trouble with traffic when I go to the stadium. I'm in Broward, and it takes me about a half-hour to get to Joe Robbie.

Then again, I always bicycle to the stadium... :D

I was just at Safeco Field, where I could see the game just fine.
