He deserves it. He's good, he just came to spring training extremely overweight.

good news for him, hopefully he does good.

Wasn't he in a really bad car accident in Arizona before ST even started? That might have something to do with his weight issue.

Good for him.. he threw me a ball at one of the hurricane games in The Cell last year for wearing a Hawkeye hat

With the way he pitched for us, he is going to melt down at his first Yankees/Sox game in the Bronx

If he can get any consistency, he could be useful for the benevolent Red Sox, but I doubt it if he stinks up the place like did for the Marls earlier this season.

We discussed that this offseason and pretty much came to the conclusion that there was no way in hell the two could be connected given the amount of weight gained and the time of the accident.

Ok I didn't know(I wasnt here during the offseason :p ). I still wish him nothing but good luck. His main problem was letting inherited runners score

His main problem was sucking. He can barely pitch well to lefties, which comprise ten percent of the world's population. Imagine if hitters were kept on teams to hit .260 against just ten percent of the pitchers in the league, and be atrocious against everyone else.

Yeah, he had a problem with walks last year and this year reversed splits. Not a good thing when you've been typecast (and given chance after chance after chance) as a Lefthanded One Out GuY

I always shy away from saying loogy because I don't think anyone else uses that term.
