I thought it was an automatic loss with the type of line-up the Cards have. It's nice to have our AAAA starter look like Cy Young atleast once. :mischief

He kept us in the game, and that is all we could ask of him. Props to Ish.

That is if our horses, Beckett and Burnett would start pitching like they can again. The rest of the rotation is shoring them up right now.

i was at the game.. i felt really bad for him when he gave up the HR..

 

i thought he would get the W

but at least the team won

he looked crushed after Grudzy knocked that pitch out...

 

It was a rough one especially since he was only one out away from a great outing.

How about Castillo as the unsung hero? Great defense, important leadoff bunt in that 8th inning.

Thanks for the great outing, Ish. We needed it today more than ever.

I'm glad he kept us in the game and all, but 4 runs in 6 innings (ERA = 6.00) isn't exactly a good outing.

valdez made a good pitch though...sometimes you just have to tip your cap...outside corner and low and grudz knocked it out..good for him and we still won...props to ish on a good outing

Can't ask more from our #5 up against the Cards. Great outing

His previous outing (against the Brewers) was very good too, I believe it avoided the sweep. We need Vargas to be stellar tonight to win the series.

From what I could gather from Gmeday and radio, Valdez was having a very good night before Grudz reached out and launched a ball off the plate into the seats.
