September 6, 200519 yr Wouldn't it be cheaper to just fix the roof than build a new stadium. Or does this mean something bigger, like the Saints won't be returning?

Or does this mean something bigger, like the Saints won't be returning? 932526 Just speculation, but the Saints might have informed the city/state they won't be returning which prompted the decision to just demolish it, I guess. Also, there are/were a countless number of dead bodies laying around the whole building and tons of bacteria and whatnot, but they could just sanitize and renovate the whole place.
September 6, 200519 yr Tear it back down to the cemetary and re-build the structure the Saints wanted on land north of the city that is high and near a major Interstate.
September 7, 200519 yr supposedly there is foundation damage done due to all the water around the joint. what a shocker that would be. the saints are not coming back. NOLA will never be the same and it shouldnt be the same, those thinking it would be are kidding themselves.

If the SuperDome is demolished, then it's pretty much certain the Saints aren't returning to New Orleans.
September 7, 200519 yr What does this mean for the Sugar Bowl? 933086 well it obviously wont be held in NOLA. guess that will make things a bit interesting with the bcs perhaps.
September 7, 200519 yr What does this mean for the Sugar Bowl? 933086 Good question, I think San Antonio offered to host it this year while they figure out a permanent solution.
September 7, 200519 yr Even though it would probably mean an exodus of pro sports(football at least), the land it would free up for development would probably help.
September 7, 200519 yr Even though it would probably mean an exodus of pro sports(football at least), the land it would free up for development would probably help. 933170 ya except the land probably shouldnt be developed.

September 7, 200519 yr its just unbelievable what an impact this hurricane has made in all aspects of life...including sports.
September 7, 200519 yr That would be horrible if they lost the sugar bowl. We'll have to see what happens in the up coming months.
