Something that McKeon said about AJ

Featured Replies

Well those extra innings in Spring didn't seem to hurt Dontrelle too much. I know Dontrelle is a special guy and not everyone can be Dontrelle but AJ is the guy with the best stuff on the staff but he's an idiot and a jackass. At least we get some compensatory picks when he signs elsewhere as a free agent. Too bad we didn't unload him before the deadline.

They may make the playoffs but at what price?

Oh brother. What are they playing the season for? For next year? Yeah we should save AJ's arm for next year when he'll be [over] paid $15 Million by some sucker. If your going to be a starting pticher you should expect to pitch 200 innings. Maybe that's too old school, but that's what I expect a "superstar" to do.

Old School would be 300 innings. As recently as Sandy Koufax's last two years (and 3 of his last 4) he tossed over 300. 200 should be no problem for an ace starter.

Like someone mentioned, something's wrong in the clubhouse though if Jack is saying those things.

I can't wait till he's gone after this year. Mr. Inconsistancy has done more to hurt this team as of late at a time when this team needs him the most to help get them into the playoffs.

Maybe facing Roger will get him excited enough to really start throwing like the pitcher we all he can be.

usually when he faces opponents like a clemens or carpenter he tries to just fireball it the whole time trying to impress them

so they AJ fan club is down to like 2 or 3 then?

"If you talk the talk, you better walk the walk," McKeon said of Burnett's performance.

AJ got Jack McKeowned.

Wow, the way everyone gets on Robinson when a hitter is in a slump, I thought I'd come here and find Wiley getting the blame for not "fixing" AJ. Guess I was wrong.

AJ's too stubborn to be "fixed."

Robinson needlessly tweaks with guys...it's apples to oranges.

If you want proof, Torborg even backed it up during a national game on Fox this season when it was the Cubs and Cardianls or Braves (can't remember), and he was commenting on Lee's monster numbers. He essentially said that Lee would go through stretches where he would just be seeing the ball well, having good AB's, and then Robinson would tweak his hands, or his feet positioning or something else, and then Lee couldn't hit a beach-ball with a tennis racket. He contributed a lot of Lee's success this season to having a consistent stance.

Either way, AJ had a few stretches of being good, our offense hasn't come close to equaling the pre-season expectations. While AJ is having a terrible year, Beckett and Willis are having career years. As far as the offense goes, Cabrera is the only real standout, and LoDuca, Lowell, Pierre and Gonzalez are severe disappointments.

I see what you're saying, but it's really really different.

Aj doesn't listen to coaches. He only gets them fired.
