September 15, 200519 yr Have you ever played tennis? I think there is an argument for tennis being the most difficult sport. Dont just dismiss him outright.
September 15, 200519 yr Author Have you ever played tennis? I think there is an argument for tennis being the most difficult sport. Dont just dismiss him outright. 946970[/snapback] I played tennis for several years when I lived in NC, it is no where close to being the toughest sport in the world.
September 15, 200519 yr It difficult because day in and day out its all on you. You can't have an off day if you want to win, there is no one else to rely on. To win you have to be on the top of your game, every day through a tourney. You have to be in shape to run back and fourth over a court for a couple hours a day. You have to be able to stand in to return some of these rocket serves, would probably hurt if one hit you. Oh and you get to know that worldwide tennis is one of the more popular sports, so you are getting watched from all over the world.
September 15, 200519 yr You could argue boxing is harder because not only do you have to take punches, but still be able keep your focus on footwork and defense while keeping poise.

Have you tried hitting a punching bag for a minute straight? You have to be in the best shape for boxing than any other sport

Its about what is the toughest to do. And the top boxers box 2 MAYBE 3 times a year, sometimes they may not even box at all in a year.
September 16, 200519 yr The sport that requires the most time, effort and sacrifice in order to become really good at is probably tennis. Any moron can get the ball over the net in the square, but to hit the lines perfectly, with something on them, from all angles, off-balance, etc., that's hard to perfect. I might argue that hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do though... You ever been to the batting cages? You have to start swinging at a 90mph fastball as it starts rolling down the chute, lol.
September 16, 200519 yr There's no one sport that's the hardest. Period. Different people are good at different things. You could argue that the lumberjack games are the hardest, or mountain climbing, or tennis, or golf... It's all hard. It's why people dig it, it's why others watch.
September 16, 200519 yr Ive got one for you.... High Jumpers... I ran Track since elementary school (I was on a junior club team) and there was no event that boggled my mind more then the high jump. What those guys can do is amazing... The current world record is a tad over 8 feet...That someone can jump over that height is insane...
September 17, 200519 yr Just for the record, tennis is nowhere near easy. But I think the hardest sport would be either cross country, or maybe bowling. :plain
September 17, 200519 yr Mastering most sports is unbelivably difficult. I think being a quarterback on NFL has to be a one the harder things to do in sports.
