Top 5 Loses of the past that should have been wins

Featured Replies

1. april vs. nats we r losing 1-2 in the ninth delgado hits his first homer, we're tied. lo duca comes up 2 batters later misses a homer by a foot of the left field teal monster, one inning later guillen hits a homer and we lose. fault-relief

2. September 20 at mets we get 2 runs of offense again and try to win with it till the 12th inning when a rrokie hits a single down the right field line to break our hearts..again... fault- relief and offense

3. September 21 just for good measure just in case the fans have recovered from their suicidal feelings from one day earlier the offense decides to put double the runs up on the board and come back from behind to take the laed 4-3 but then blow it with relief pitching. we once again are forced to go bak and watch the 2003 world series video after the 4-5 lose to the mets in the ninth when pierre cant handle a single to the OF and boobles it and reyes to second, only to score 1 at bat later by former marlin ray fatass castro.

4. September 23 after one day of happiness of seeing willis pitch wonderful with 2 whole runs of support the fish say hey lets do it again and waste the starting pitcher's effort and delgado's longing ness to see the post-season and bring out the six-fingered monkey and then switch him with todd jones after he allows some hits since jones doe great with runners on when he comes in. Well batter-by-batter the braves take the lead and then strike out the side in the top of the 9th to finish our false playoff hopes we had left

5.September 17 a day that will live in infimy, the turning point of the season, we had just lost 3 straight and where 1 inning away from staying within striking distance of houston and tying philly. we r leading 2-1 and all of a sudden hell decides to break lose and make castillo not be able to field a ball or run out 5 feet to catch burell's pop-up and for good measure make todd jones throw the ball away right before conine see's a ball go right between his legs, well that tops it off.. the worst lost of the year, sure yesterday we lost to the braves and finished our playoff hopes while the 2003 marlins, opps i mean the 2005 phils score 5 runs in the top of the 9th to beat the reds, but still september 17 was the worst of the worst.

5.September 17 a day that will live in infimy

I actually laughed when I read that :lol .

Everyone always likes to ask "Where were you on 9/11?"

Well the new question is going to be, "Where were you on 9/17?"

Yeah, all those losses were tough. The last four losses were games the Marlins should have won. Last night. Two against the Mets. And the game against the Phillies. That's four wins we should have had... we'd be tied with the 'Stros right now for the Wild Card lead.

Exactly. And if we'd played the way we are capable of playing the entire season, we'd be running away with the Wild Card right now and possibly leading the NL East. That's what hurts the most is that we wasted such a talented team, similar to the 2002 Miami Dolphins that had the NFL-leading rusher Ricky Williams and a #3 defense and were 2 wins away from homefield advantage and missed the playoffs.

How about talking one of the games against the Cubs before the All Star break instead of getting swept?

Splitting the Colorado Double Header?

Splitting the Philly series after the All Star break instead of dropping 3 of 4?

Taking one more in that series in Milwaukee?

That STUPID Ramon Castro loss in April (might have been May)

At least one of the games in San Diego?

THE 9/17 game?

The Quinten McCracken loss at Arizona?

PNC Park?

At least one of those close Anaheim games?

ANY of Al Leiter's losses?

ANY of Moehler's early starts where he lose because of run support?

Aaron Heilman?

I'm sure theres more but if we had taken HALF of those games...do you realize where we'd be right now???
