Posted August 17, 200321 yr Does anyone else think there is a good possibility of the enitre Marlins infield getting a gold glove this season?? The D is just amazing every single night!
August 17, 200321 yr ...1 ..if we are very very lucky cuz, the cardinals and their good but def. overrated infield always takes it away from Lowell and Louie..
August 17, 200321 yr overrated infield for the cards? puh leaze i said they were good but yea...they are overrated...just like AROD is good, but over paid Castillo should have won a gold glove last year...didnt and I think Lowell is better than Rolen also...I think Pierre may deserve a GG
August 17, 200321 yr arguable, but most would agree Rolen is better defensively than Lowell... but if he wins a GG, thats awesome
August 17, 200321 yr Author Either way, you'd have to agree that Lee, Castillo, Gonzalez, Lowell, and Pudge are in the Top 5 of their respective position in the National League!
August 17, 200321 yr Either way, you'd have to agree that Lee, Castillo, Gonzalez, Lowell, and Pudge are in the Top 5 of their respective position in the National League! I'd say that definitley maybe in the top 3 for some
August 17, 200321 yr I think D. Lee deserves a GG because hes been saving us a lot of runs this years.
August 17, 200321 yr as a phillie fan, i've seen juan pierre rob our team an unheard of amount of times and he'd get that gold glove if it wasn't for that Mr. Jones out in center for the Bravos, i hear hes pretty good out there... You could argue for Lee, but Thome has a .998 fielding percentage, has made 2 errors all year and has saved countless games for the phillies. Without Thome's defense at 1st base, the Marlins could easily be up 3/4/5 games at this point on the phillies, maybe more. Despite Polanco moving to 3rd base for the rest of the year to make room for Chase Utley, i think he will win the NL 2B GG hands down. As for SS, thats up in the air, Jimmy Rollins or Alex Gonzalez could very well win it, as well as a few others like Renteria, Furcal etc. As for Pudge, I think he'd win it, his arm is incredible, but Mike Matheny for the Cardinals has not made an error all year and just in the two games against the Phillies, Matheny has saved about four runs by blocking very tough balls in the dirt. This guy is good. We'll just wait and see. :hat

ARE YOU INSANE!?!?! oh no wait.... your a Philly fan lol. believe me SoFlo people really like Polanco but you will not have anyone agree with you on that statement. BTW the GG isnt judged by fielding percentage Thome may have a great one but people like D Lee or JT Snow have the range to get to many more balls in play.

August 17, 200321 yr I don't think anybody in the infield will win a Gold Glove. I think Derrek Lee deserves it. He's playing the best 1B of anybody I can remember since Keith Hernandez. I haven't seen JT Snow play this year though. Castillo and Lowell are among the best, but they aren't THE best. Lowell really doesn't have great range, especially since the groin injury. Alex Gonzalez has played as well as anybody but I don't think he'll get it either. It seems like you have to have deserved the Gold Glove for a couple of years before you actually win it. Overall our infield defense is great because they're all top-3 defenders at their positions. We have no weakness on the infield. In the OF, I don't think Pierre will win one because of his lack of an arm. That may not be fair but I think it'll cost him votes.
August 17, 200321 yr Pudge and Pierre are my picks... While Lowell, Gonzalez, Castillo, and Lee could all win it, they're overshadowed by Rolen, Renteria/Furcal, Vidro, and Thome...
August 17, 200321 yr Pudge could win because of his name. Lee will win it because he's so damn awesome. Castillo or Vidro toss-up, pick one. Renteria or Gonzalez, pick one. Lowell or Rolen, pick one. Anyone in our infield has an amazing chance.
August 17, 200321 yr I think Lee has the best chance. But, I also think that Pudge has a good chance. Lowell will not get it. Rolen is better. Pierre has been awesome in the outfield, but his weak arm will keep him from getting it.
August 17, 200321 yr Lowell's chances keep getting better. He has the best fielding percentage of all NL third basemen, and his offense will garner him more attention.
August 17, 200321 yr Lowell's chances keep getting better. He has the best fielding percentage of all NL third basemen, and his offense will garner him more attention. i agree on the offense helping his chances(which is sooooo stupid).... but fielding percentage(for the most part) means jack sh!t
August 17, 200321 yr im thinking we'll get one gold glove if the D stays the same......they're seriously amazing night in , night out.
August 17, 200321 yr Fielding percentage doesn't mean jack s***, but it doesn't mean much. I wouldn't be suprised if Lowell won it. Granted, I wouldn't be suprised if he didn't, either...
August 18, 200321 yr i think the chances for GGs increase if we win the wild card because more people will be talking about us. Especially if the Cards dont make the playoffs.
August 18, 200321 yr I honestly think we'll have at least two GG's to show for our infield, if not more.

August 18, 200321 yr Pudge and Pierre are my picks... Pierre will not win it , He has to many " studs " over him like A.Jones & J.Edmonds
