September 27, 200520 yr BTW, what's AJ's agent think of this? What do other players think of this? What about other agents? Friends of players? Any of these guys represent or within ear shot of a prospective free agent we wish would sign with the Marlins? Although we can pretty much assume anyone who respected A.J. Bunett over the years has adopted his petty sour feelings towards this front office anyway.

Basically, AJ get the "problem child" label. Not the reputation you need to sit in the nego table with other teams
September 27, 200520 yr look here is the bottom line. aj went off the other day on the marlins organization. the marlins responded in kind. its childish and immature on both parts, but its nobody but aj's fault. maybe if he would show up for a big game that would be something different. but 9 times out of 10 when the going got rough aj wilted.
September 27, 200520 yr I don't know about that. There's always going to be someone or a couple out there that see something special in Burnett, much like Frank Robinson and Jose Guillen. In business, you want healthy relationships with all your suppliers. You know someone out there, especially one of the many who already dislike Loria, is spreading lies saying Burnett was sent home to avoid paying him an extra couple thousand dollars.
September 27, 200520 yr :thumbdown Give the fans one last chance to say good-bye. I don't think AJ's been a model citizen, but anyone who fails to recognize his accomplishments simply was either not here during the rough times, or is just fickle beyond reason. AJ's an ass-hole, but for 7 years, he was our ass-hole. It's sad that he absolutely positively will not be back next year, if he made that final start, the chance remained slim, now it's at none. :notworthy Thats why you are one of 3 great marlin posters on this board. Hey "Passion" why not get some more lipstick since you have been kissing AJs a@@ now that hes probably leaving to Boston. :lol I was proping Swift on a statement that is true and that I agree with. And Ive thought since mid-season that AJ will be a Detroit Tiger next year. But good call!

September 27, 200520 yr I have no problem with this whatsoever. Yes it sucks we are losing a player of his caliber but it is painfully clear that is what he wants and thats all he wants. He brought this upon himself by all his negative comments. Seems to me he has been somewhat of a clubhouse cancer and if that is the case it is probably best for both parties to just part ways and move on.

Then again, Boston knows all about making good moves in history. = Better use of sarcasm
