Bigtime Trade Rumor

Featured Replies

Juan pierre, Aaron Heilman, Anderson Hernandez to the YANKEES

Tonyon Sturtze, Carlos Delgado and Scott Olsen to the METS

Kaz Matsui , Mike Cameron and Carl Pavano to the Blue Jays

Gary Sheffield and Mike Lowell to Boston

Josh Tower, Ted Lilly, and Manny Ramirez to Marlins

Um, link?

Money?

Sounds made up, Yankees Mets and Red Sox would never help each other.

And I think it's an awful trade. It doesn't do anything for the lineup, if anything it makes us much worse, and the Mets probably give up the least to get the most in return...

OK seriously, whoever heard of a 5-team trade? This thing is beyond fake.

Yeah, exactly, 3 team swaps are hard enough to pull off in the MLB, 5 teamers, all with east coast teams, three of whom are in the same division never, ever happen. The only reason they happen rarely in the NBA is simply due to the salary cap.

As a Met fan i"m not really sure what to make of this...this is one of those that you just sit and stare at for a while. The impetus behind trading Manny Ramirez is to free up money to go after another big bat and to acquire someone to play centerfield...I think Manny being dealt relies heavily on Johnny Damon's offseason demands. If the Mets could just acquire Manny by taking on his salary and sending a CFer and some prospects to the BoSox why wouldn't they do that? Why get Delgado and send Manny to a division rival?

And where are the Blue Jays getting all this money? They're picking up some awfully hefty contracts, especially in Pavano and Matsui.

The Yankees motivation is apparently to dump salary if these are the players involved...that seems unlikely. They could easily solve their CF issue by throwing heaps of money at Damon in the offseason.

and the marlins will trade a high paid productive 1b for an even higher paid Manny Ramirez? Will you guys be going with an 8 man rotation next year?

This really seems like complete rubbish...I could see the Twins being involved in some larger deal with Cano/Hunter as the main pieces but it seems like some of these teams are just trading for the sake of trading.

right so we'd be losing 4 guys and 3 key parts to our offense? and we get a dude i've never heard of a pitcher that no one cares about cause he can't figure out his breaking ball and an overpaid player (albeit awesome) who plays when he feels like it. naw

Here's the way this breaks down:

Marlins give up: Delgado, Lowell, Pierre, Olsen to get Manny, Lilly and Towers...big freakin' whoop.

The Mets give up Cameron, Heilman, Hernandez and Matsui, yet they walk away with Delgado Olsen and Sturtze.

The Mets could offer Cameron, Heilman, Hernandez and Matsui for Delgado and Olsen and the Marlins would laugh in their face.

I'm with alot you guys the trade smells as is, but we don't know the $$$$ being exchange in the deal. It would appear the Marlins are saving maybe 2 or 3 milllion while losing a left-handed power 1B???if this is true its simply a salary dump

There's no link to the rumor, and trust me, Fox Sports South doesn't do the Braves, it's Turner South. I've had to watch enough out of market games with that damn "my south" song they play. It's burned into my mind...
