Trade in the Works?

Featured Replies

at least Rusch has the ability to win 10 - 12 and he has done it before unlike all the other rooks. could be a very good 5th starter (or long relieve/spot starter)

I actually dig the deal depending on the prospect we are giving up. but then again they are giving up one of their top prospects so its really unrelevant

He ain't winning 10-12 games with an ERA over 5.

I would do that in a heartbeat. I love JP but we good 2 capable OFs in return....I think Patterson just needs a change of scenery. He could steal a lot of bases for us.

id rather do pierre and a prospect for wily taveras or crawford

so would everyone else

He (Patterson) has to get on base first.

That appears his problem, he stole a paltry 15 bases in 451 ABs in 2005 compared to JP stealing 57 in 650+/- ABs. Patterson's OBP was 75 points below Pierre's and JP's wasn't stellar by his standards.

:D

With Delmon Young and Joey Gathright waiting, the Devil Rays might let Carl Crawford go...

who knows what it would take though...

Personally I'd rather trade for Rocco Baldelli if we were going to go the D-Rays route.

Either way it'd be a nice outfield, Hermida/Baldelli/Pierre, Hermida/Crawford/???

id rather go with crawford then rocco.

Probably, I'd like us to do something. Not trade Olsen or Johnson, but something.

yah i know what you mean but there can be a million rumors floating but in the end nothing happening. its tougher to make deals when you got a low payroll.

The D-Rays signed Crawford to a six year deal.

And Spike, Allison isn't exactly a top prospect anymore. :thumbup

Did they. That was smart of them. Carl Crawford is a special player.

And Allison is still young. He could make his way back to being a top prospect with a strong showing at a higher level of the minors next season.

At best Allison won't be ready until September call-ups 2007, and that's pushing it. Any organization can see the major gamble in acquiring a guy who was MIA with a drug problem most of 2004.

I am not arguing with you, in fact I am agreeing, but he worked hard to get back to where he is now, and if he continues to work hard, combined with his natural talent, he could be become good for us as a player or a player traded for another sooner rather than later.

Is that a fair assesment?

Well, IMO I think if he is traded it will be later rather than sooner.
