geemoney
CO: SI.com, the Marlins signed him today. Could be one of the two "minor" free agents one of the papers mentioned us signing a week or so ago. He spent most of last year in the minors, and has a .207 career batting average. DcFishFan
the savior? Nah, Huzienga's restrictive lease agreement forces the Marlins to have one player on the roster with the initials "A.A." Not looking so good for re-signing Alfonseca, then.

C'mon, that alone is worth the price of admission. Which leads me to the next point, can a guy with six fingers flip the bird? Wouldn't he have to use BOTH middle fingers? Hmm. By the way, how many freaking posts do I need to get a promotion out of Triple-AAA and become a rookie? I'm gonna have to start calling myself Josh Willingham. Lane1974
Noteworthy: The Marlins signed infielder Alfredo Amezaga to a one-year, $340,000 contract. The Miami High School graduate played in only five games combined for Colorado and Pittsburgh last season, batting .167 with one stolen base. He appeared in 122 games from 2002-04 for the Los Angeles Angels, hitting .209 with four home runs and 20 RBIs. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/conten...linsroster.html

I'll take a pass on the player.

Seems the $$$ could have been better spent elsewhere. This is going to be a waste.
rferry
I would guess that $340K is what A.A. would be receiving only if he makes the 25-man roster out of spring training
