No wonder he was struggling....

from the sun-sen

After the game, the Marlins announced left-hander Armando Almanza would undergo season-ending arthroscopic elbow surgery today to remove a bone spur. Dr. James Andrews, who examined Almanza on Wednesday in Birmingham, Ala., will perform the operation.

The Marlins placed Almanza on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Aug. 20 with shoulder and elbow soreness.

If the surgery is a success, Almanza can be a staple of our bullpen next season like we've always hoped. GL AA.

He probably developed the elbow problem from repeatedly throwing cheesburgers down his fat pie hole.

Waste of skin, goodbye!

hooo boy, knew that was coming. thank goodness, because he's had so much to do with the marlins slump....

lol, yah I know. We need to worry about other things....like scoring enough runs to actually put pressure on the bullpen.

Yes! Hopefuly he can get it all together in Spring Training. Maybe thats why he was pitching bad, because of the elbow.

what was his surgery on at the beginning of last season? Same elbow?

Is James Andrews the only arm doc out there? Anytime any pitcher in the bigs gets hurt, he's the man to call. What a stud.

not only arms...he's the top orthopedic surgeon in the country I believe. Didn't Willis McGahee go there? As did Robert Edwards? I know he works on blown out knees as well.

Yeah, maybe it was b/c of the elbow. Or then again, maybe it was because he sucked, hard to tell. Oh well, how much can you expect from a guy who shares pitching tips with Vlad Nunez?

Someone call Bobby V. and ask him where his 2nd best bully southpaw has been for the last two months.

so who is the Marlins top LH reliever?

Tejera?

lol, make that the ONLY lefthanded reliever Ranchod.

at least until Tommy Phelps comes back in September.

No wonder he was struggling....
