January 23, 200620 yr Currently, I use Netflix, which I think is OK. But lately I have been tempted with switching to Blockbuster Online, which allows me an additional 2 in-store rentals per month for the same price. However, I'd like to hear what those who have used it have to say first, in case there are problems I should know about, like lack of distribution centers in my area, and so forth. Your help is appreciated in advance.
January 23, 200620 yr The Blockbuster service is very good and reliable. I dont use NetFlix so I cant compare but I really like the Blockbuster service.
January 23, 200620 yr Just got on Netflix recently. No problems at all. I think I have the package for 12.99 per month, 2 movies at a time, & they get to you extremely quickly in the mail. Haven't looked at BB, but I'm very happy with Netflix so far.
January 23, 200620 yr They both work fine. I've used Netflix and my girlfriend used Blockbuster...same results, really. It takes 2 or 3 days to get a new movie, in addition to the two business days it takes for them to receive your last one. So you're looking at about 4 days in between flicks.
January 23, 200620 yr I actually tired them both. Netflix to me has a bigger selection as far as the old movies. Also, lets say you add a new release to your que. Blockbuster will have a long wait for it.. Netflix has way more copies of movies therefore you will get movies faster with netflix, I say stay with them..
January 24, 200620 yr I have BB and love the service. No problems whatsoever. Very quick turnaround time and two coupons for free in-store rentals each month. I usually give them to my son to rent games. :thumbup
January 24, 200620 yr I've used both and prefer BB - the main reason is the 2 free in stores I get movies turned around in 3 days (first day I put it in the mail, second they receive and send the next, third I receive) as they have a local distribution center never had a problem with new releases and have been able to get many old movies I haven't used netflix in 4 years so I'm not sure how they are now, but I liked them at the time - only problem I had was my ghetto mailman in philly would steal some of the movies or they would never get to me so I had some conflicts with customer care
January 24, 200620 yr I had Netflix and now have Blockbuster. I'd highly recommend either. Netflix is somewhat faster, but Blockbuster can you free in store game rentals. I've been able to watch so many movies I've been meaning to see but never did. I just add a movie to the que, watch it a couple days later when I have free time, and have someone mail it back.
January 25, 200620 yr Author Sounds like one can't go wrong with either one. I'll probably give Blockbuster a try for a month or so and then draw my own comparison. Thanks again for all the responses, folks.
January 26, 200620 yr I absolutely love Netflix. I've gotten so sick of going to BB and not being able to rent what I want. I was raving about Netflix the other day to someone. I'm totally happy with it. I would recommend it to anyone.
January 26, 200620 yr I used to actually work at Blockbuster a few months ago...They have been steadily declining, so I'd say Netflix is the more stable business as of now. But they may have recouped in recent months. I dunno.
