September 2, 200323 yr *I also have to agree about the Juan E situation...hes going to be overpaid and is one of the worst everyday RF's in the game. OMG.....You are all haters.
September 3, 200323 yr OMG.....You are all haters. statistically he is one of the worst RF's in the game. Ill judge him on stats you can be the guy in my avatar.
September 3, 200323 yr statistically he is one of the worst RF's in the game. Ill judge him on stats you can be the guy in my avatar. Sham, what I believe you MEANT TO SAY was Juan E is one of the worst right fielders OFFENSIVELY. Without checking the stats I think he has something like 200 defensive attempts without an error, he's got a great glove and a cannon for an arm.
September 3, 200323 yr Ill agree with you on the cannon part, but his range ranks 28th among NL outfielders. He is very good at catching the balls within that range proven by the 0 errors, but errors is not exactly the best judgement of defensive ability. Players with more range have increased chances on flyballs and therefore have more opportunities for error.
September 3, 200323 yr Knock, Knock. Who's There? The third best producer on our team. The third best producer on our team who? Never mind, they don't want me here.

September 3, 200323 yr Knock, Knock. Who's There? The third best producer on our team. The third best producer on our team who? Never mind, they don't want me here. Doesnt really do it for me as I dont count RBI's as very meaningful. And again he is one of the worst offensive RF's in the game. But if your little joke works for you theres nothing I can do to help you.
September 3, 200323 yr Author We hold all the chips thanks to the front office being shrewd enough to get in on the wave of the future, short term contracts. Oh God. Tell me again why you don't want to save money and lock good young players into long-term deals for less money? Remember, if this whole short term idea wasn't bandied about would'nt have to worry about anyone in a teal uniform with a pulse being eligible for arby or looking at FA> As a matter of fact, we probably aren't having this discussion right now. Not to mention how huge it was to get all that money off the books last offseason Yeah, oh wait. Money off the books like Hamptons, which we will continue to pay next year, or money off the books like Pudge, who we will continue to pay through 2005? Call me crazy, but I don't really think it wise to pay 5 years worth of salary between two players for one season's work.

What a crock.
September 3, 200323 yr Yeah your right, I made a mistake with the joke. He's second best RBI wise: 141 hits (3rd on club) 67 Runs (6th) 29 Doubles (3rd, 1 behind lead) 5 Triples (2nd, 1 behind lead) 16 Homers (3rd) 83 RBIs (2nd) 228 Total Bases (2nd)
September 3, 200323 yr i think rbi are pretty meaningful, but thats me i guess I think its comes behind many other stats you can use to rank a player...thats what I meant to say.
September 3, 200323 yr And all that doesn't include defense. He's a bargain at 3 mil. He got 3.45 this season and theres no reason to think he wont get a raise You can throw out his stats all day, but compared to other RF/LF hes below average to average. And juanky you realize that OPS = OBP + SLG whats the big frekin mystery?
September 3, 200323 yr i think rbi are pretty meaningful, but thats me i guess You could put any number of corner OFs in Encarnacion's spot in the lineup, and they would be just as (if not more) productive from an RBI perspective. RBI is a meaningless statistic for judging individual performance.
September 3, 200323 yr .314 OBP (10th, ehh he could do beter) .438 Slugging (6th) .752 in your almighty OPS (dunno ranking, I had to add that one) .271 Average (5th) Yeah man. He blows. Compare him to other RFs in the game (which is a real comparison as opposed to comparing him with just his own team) and it'll be quite clear that Encarnacion blows as a RF.
September 3, 200323 yr And all that doesn't include defense. He's a bargain at 3 mil. LOL! Kevin Millar is a far superior player, and he's making $1 million/year less. Encarnacion is no bargain. He'd be lucky to get $1 million/year on the FA market.
September 3, 200323 yr To put some perspective on things, its expected that Vlad Guerrero can be had for somewhere around $12 million a year. On what planet? Vlad Guerrero is going for at least $14 million/year, easily.
September 3, 200323 yr And juanky you realize that OPS = OBP + SLG whats the big frekin mystery? I did the OPS. I just couldn't get the team ranking.
September 3, 200323 yr CF - Juan Pierre 2B - Luis Castillo 1B - Jeff Conine 3B - Miguel Cabrera C - Mike Redmond RF - Abraham Nunez LF - Cheap free agent OF like Michael Tucker, Ben Grieve, or Eric Owens SS - Alex Gonzalez what the hell is that ? September 3, 200323 yr Encarnacion has no errors but that means nothing. He makes ill advised plays sometime that almost cost us the game (Moricae's homerun in ATL could have been avoided)
