I just don't have the amount of wins because I had to move across town in week 3.

 

But if those counted it would have hurted my WP%.

 

So 3rd place is still a little low for where I expected to be but I'll get it up yet.

And whatever breathing room Das had after week 6 has evaporated. Once again we have a tie heading into week 8.

another way to keep both accuracy and # of correct picks is subract the amount of losses from the amount of wins.

i just looked at the standings, and GB is not calculated properly. each win constitutes an additional half a game, and each loss constitutes the loss of half a game. the GB that is calculated up there is correct for people who have picks for every game (i.e. those who have played since week 1), but it was calculated incorrectly for those who have fewer than the maximum amount of picks.

 

for example, 83gator is 93-51. if a new person is at 0-0, they have 93 fewer wins (93/2 = 46.5 points behind) but 51 fewer losses (25.5 points ahead). correctly calculated, the new person is thus 21 Games Back (46.5 - 25.5 = 21 GB). although GB should theoretically be a measure of how many wins a team needs to tie for a lead, in actuality it is just a mathematical win/loss formula calculated as above. if you look at division standings in a particular sport, a team with a record of 93-52 is 0.5 games behind a team with a record with 93-51.

 

to avoid having to recalculate GB the hard way, you can simply divide everyone takeaway+/- points by 2, then subtract each person's value from the high score (in this case, one-half of 42 = 21) to calculate GB.

 

for dagreatone: 21 - 16 = 5. so dagreatone is correctly 5 GB, since he played the same number of games as 83gator and das texan. essentially, GB corrects for a difference in number of "games played".

 

of course, if you're basing the game on # of wins, as i'm assuming you are, then just leave the standings are they are and remove the reference to GB (or recalculate it for reference).

 

ok, i hope this is of some use to you. i'm a numbers fiend, so i just thought i'd point out that GB is calculated incorrectly here.
