February 28, 200620 yr this team ain't going that South True but if they Offer land and some cash I would take it in a hurry! I rather drive 45 minutes than fly once a year to see this team live!

Damn straight! Seriously, I can't imagine that Loria would dance with Homestead even if they offered a free stadium... Who in their right mind would drive down to Homestead for midweek night games? Keep in mind that South Miami (22 1/3 miles) is actually closer to Dolphins Stadium than Homestead (26.5 miles).
February 28, 200620 yr Homestead is way too frickin south for a vast majority of Marlin fans. No way the stadium is built there unless they offer to pay to build the stadium and player salaries and pay people gas money.

March 1, 200620 yr Forget about anyone from Broward or Palm Beach going to a Homestead stadium. Never a good sign when you have to make sure the gas tank is full before you go to a game.

True but there are many fans in the So Fla area that would come, esp on the West Coast. As long as they stay in this area, I am happy, whether it's Homestead, Hialeah or anywhere within an hour and a half.
March 1, 200620 yr is homestead better than portland, san antonio, charlotte, etc...yeah...i thought so...while it might not be ideal...Gillette stadium in the middle of nowhere in foxboro mass seems to be working out prety well
March 1, 200620 yr Gillette stadium in the middle of nowhere in foxboro mass seems to be working out prety well A football schedule is much easier to commit to than baseball. By that logic, Pro Player should be doing mega-bucks.
March 1, 200620 yr Ah, so it was $50M in land. Sucks. $50M and land, then maybe the Marlins would consider it. That would be more than what Hialeah was offering and much more than Miami.

Thats not exactly true, I used to drive from my place (south side of airport) to the country walk area (152st and 137 ave sw) during the 5-6 time slot and the traffic was horrendous. If what you meant to say was there isnt a much traffic as going north to pro player then thats arguable. Although I-95 usually moved rather quickly during weekday games.
