Looks like the Twins pulled a fast one on us with Bowyer. Traded him at the absolute peak of his value and it looks like the guy has absolutely no control to go with a fairly commanded, flat heater that great fastball hitters feast on.

 

 

Definately the worse trade we made in the off season. Bowyer is 24 and still only has one pitch, and Tyler is 23-24 has no control either and has never pitched above high A ball. I personally always thought Castillo was better than Pierre yet it seems teams where more interested in Pierre than Castillo and the Pierre deal is probably the best one we made in the off season.

i read somewhere that it takes him some time to get his fastball up to the mid to high 90s. he's probably not there yet.

I shudder at how poor his control will be once he starts throwing faster.

I was at the Twins/Tigers game today and was speaking with Terry Ryan, GM for the Twins...he says Bowyer needs to work on his spin.....95-98 mph fastballs will be sat upon by good hitters and it will go out at 180mph...did not speak highly of Tyler....needs to get it together upstairs and get to bed early...as in the pm hours not the am hours....
