March 30, 200620 yr Anybody who is sent up and down from AAA and MLB is goign to struggle. It just plays with your mind. The Cubs killed the kid because of how they mishandled him. The Fish need to leave him alone in the majors and let him get consistent starts (I think they will do that).
March 30, 200620 yr Mitre's raw numbers don't fit his ERA, but his sample size didn't get big enough for it to correct himself. His batting average against, especially as a starter, is solid. Over time, that ERA will drop.
March 30, 200620 yr I doubt it, as I've said I've watched him pitch several times. He is outmatched, and doesnt have the skill nor ability to compete at the MLB level. I also find it strange he did better in hitter friendly parks and poorly in some big pitching parks. He's out of the rotation by June at the latest. He's garbage.

As for Mitre, he is the definition of suck. It should tell you something when you see your friend, a Cubs fan, a few days after the trade and he cant stop laughing for 5 minutes because we had just traded for Mitre(although, he was sad to lose Nolasco and to a lesser extent Pinto). And no the ERA wont drop. His stuff is just plain BAD(below average drasticially)...pitchers with his talent rarely(if ever) make it out of single A ball.

March 30, 200620 yr Actually my Cubs friend isnt typical...he doesnt drink(for one thing, I am guessing that is what you meant), and he knows his baseball. More than you could ever hope to know anyway. And Festa, I was saying how its been reported that hes come along nicely @ playing the catcher position.
