April 7, 200619 yr I can pretty much guarantee that if Pittsburgh at Cincinnati has any kind of meaning at all, it will be the game in Week 17. There's too much going on there. The 2 teams can't stand each other. It'll be the first time they're back in Cincy since "the hit", Cowher leading the city in We Dey chants at the Super Bowl celebration and in the locker room, Roethlisberger calling Odell Thurman a cheapshot artist after the game in Pittsburgh, Marvin calling Roethlisberger a baby for it, Chad Johnson referring to them as black and white TVs while we're color, Hines Ward calling out the entire city and stealing the Icky Shuffle. The list goes on and on. I don't think there's a current rivalry in the NFL that touches it. It obviously doesn't have the history or anything, but these 2 teams flat-out hate each other.
April 7, 200619 yr I kind of hope we're in the playoffs at that point and not playing our starters after a few snaps. As tight as it would be to see all the blood, all puke and drunks fighting each other, I'd rather a more relaxed atmosphere.
April 7, 200619 yr I'd have to say if it's not number one then the Dallas-Philly rivalry now is pretty damn close especially with the new developments...
April 7, 200619 yr I think alot of these rivalries are more of a regional thing. I never really think of the Cinny-Pitt or Dallas-Philly as being the biggest rivals. In fact you could make the case that Pitt-Clev or Dallas-Washington are bigger. I dont really know what the biggest rivalry is. Denver vs Oakland (used to be), Green Bay vs Chicago, Patriots vs colts (atleast past 4 years), etc...

Same with Green Bay. You made a case with Colts/Pats, but that's it.

I am not trying to trash the bengals because they will probably be good for a while, but how do they become the steelers biggest rivals?

They hate us, we hate them. That's all it is at this point. They hurt our main guy, were high fiving on the sidelines while playing the "we didn't mean to hurt him" card after the game. Our guys could HEAR them chanting "We dey" after the game, etc.
April 7, 200619 yr where did those predictions come from?! - pretty sure a couple of them are early games and only afternoon games are eligible for the bump to sunday night status

Well, as I said, the history isn't there, but it's very heated right now. On the grand scale, Cleveland is still their main rival (and ours really), but right now, the division is us and them and there was so much there last year, as said before. The teams just don't like each other at all. Hell, Cowher and Lewis, who are good friends and have been for years, weren't even on speaking terms there for a while. They've buried the hatchet since though.
April 7, 200619 yr where did those predictions come from?! - pretty sure a couple of them are early games and only afternoon games are eligible for the bump to sunday night status Every sunday game can be moved to sunday night I believe. I read an article in the herald and it said that all the dolphin game is eligibile because they are sunday at 1pm. It says sunday afternoon, but 1pm and 4:05pm are both sunday afternoon
April 7, 200619 yr I dont see them pulling Dolphins vs Jets off MNF. It is one of the best rivalries in sports and it is the only prime time game pulling in that part of the New York Market. Plus it is a tradition game because 3 of the top 10 ever MNF games are Jets vs Fins. I just dont see them pulling that one off. Remember that fox has the right to block changing so many games also. But, I do have to agree that they are the steelers biggest rivals not cincy. Heck we dont know how cincy will be this year, like the dolphins their season depends upon a knee injury

Also no games on the dec 24th can be moved so its only 6 out of the last 7 weeks that have flex schedule
