The Marlins overcame a 4-2 deficit in the eighth and the loss of Penny, who gave up three runs before departing in the first inning with a hyperextended pitching elbow.

"I did it in the bullpen," he said. "I felt it on every pitch."

i dont know what to say...

but WTF?

I felt so badly for Penny (and us) when he had to the leave the game in the first inning. Then this morning I learn that he knew something was wrong during his pre-game warm-up. While he has the right to pull himself out (even before the game starts), he doesn't have the right to leave himself in if he knows there's something wrong with his arm. At the very least he should have told the trainer or pitching coach. They might have still let him start but under scrutiny. I appreciate Penny's desire and guts. But, not his brains. We can't afford to lose another pitcher!

Brad was out there because he was supposed to be. In the bullpen he felt a little tightness, no pain. All pitchers have tightness from time to time. After a few pitches it works out. When he saw that it wasnt going away, he left the game. He is not stupid. He knows his arm is his livelyhood. Cant you guys ever give anyone the benefit of doubt?
