Ramp
The Marlins overcame a 4-2 deficit in the eighth and the loss of Penny, who gave up three runs before departing in the first inning with a hyperextended pitching elbow. "I did it in the bullpen," he said. "I felt it on every pitch." i dont know what to say... but WTF?
Admin
WTF is right. What was Brad doing out there?
Das Texan
WTF....no need to be a hero.
Arnie1941
I felt so badly for Penny (and us) when he had to the leave the game in the first inning. Then this morning I learn that he knew something was wrong during his pre-game warm-up. While he has the right to pull himself out (even before the game starts), he doesn't have the right to leave himself in if he knows there's something wrong with his arm. At the very least he should have told the trainer or pitching coach. They might have still let him start but under scrutiny. I appreciate Penny's desire and guts. But, not his brains. We can't afford to lose another pitcher!
miami15
Yeah, but Penny has never been known as a p***y. He tried to be the hero last night. CC Sabathia hyperextended his elbow on April 6, and came back April 12.
The Marlin Man
dude, he's a competitor, he wanted to go out there and win for the team, not roll over............i see no problem in what he did, most pitchers would
CapeFish
Penny has a good arm, but no damn brains. If he felt bad, why did he go out there? It almost cost us the game. There is no need for heroics if you screw your health and your team up. :thumbdown BAD MOVE PENNY!

The Marlin Man
so you wouldnt have a problem if Penny was lost till 2005? i would be sad and disapointed, but im not gonna blame a guy for wanting to be in the game, he had to try, he's not gonna be a p***y, he could throw couldnt he???????? he didnt know how serious it was so i dont blame him for testing it, no issue
Arnie1941
dumb thread Thread is not "dumb." Your reaction is. Say something constructive or nothing at all.
Ramp
dumb thread why is this so dumb? Penny tries to be hero and puts his season in jeopardy... next time, dont respond if you think its dumb FG
g8trz2003
it's dumb because it's already happened. I mean, I'm pissed cuz he's hurt. But, geez...arguing over when Penny shoud have pulled himself out? Kinda dumb in my opinion. But it's my opinion, and I'll steer clear of this thread unless the topic evolves into something else (like every thread does lol).
Wild Card
No player wants to pull themself. Period. I just want to know how long he's expected out.

dawg31
Brad was out there because he was supposed to be. In the bullpen he felt a little tightness, no pain. All pitchers have tightness from time to time. After a few pitches it works out. When he saw that it wasnt going away, he left the game. He is not stupid. He knows his arm is his livelyhood. Cant you guys ever give anyone the benefit of doubt?
